The Oak Bridge Club (formerly known as Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club at Sawgrass) in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., sits adjacent to the famed Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. The 6,413-yard, par-70 Arnold Palmer design features water on every hole, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens. Oak Bridge favors accuracy and strategy over power and distance. New owners have upgraded the clubhouse and introduced a new restaurant, The 3 Palms Grille. A tennis center is home to 10 Har-Tru clay courts.

Greens smooth but slow....Bunkers lack sand
The bunkers need attention...no sand and difficult to hit out of them. Greens are true and smooth but seem slow. Overall the course is in good shape, excellent practice area. Would recommend to friends.
Beautiful aesthetically.
Course is in good condition. The fairways and greens are quite slow currently as they are letting the grass grow long. I assume this is to put it all in great condition a month or so from now. I really enjoyed playing and will return.
Ponte Vedra CC
Great layout, a couple of really challenging holes. The course could use a little TLC, the bunkers had very little sand. The greens were the slowest I've ever played. The rough was nice and thick. The fringe was very long. Grass was rather healthy.
Two courses in one
I liked the front 9 better than the back nine, but both were good. Parking was a problem....... The staff was very friendly and accomodating.
Slow greens due to weather/ rain
A little slow getting started, but was good once we did get to playing.
A course not to miss
Water is present everywhere, I would use more my 3 wood next time.
The course needs attention
The greens were not cut low enough, the rough was patchy. If I had to pay full price for this course I would never play it
Water on every hole but fair in difficulty.
The course has a nice layout with water on every hole. Still, it was only moderate difficulty. The greens and fairways were in good condition. Even though we we played in less than 4 hours, there were slow groups that could have been encouraged to play more quickly or let faster groups play through, had there been a marshal monitoring pace of play. overall, I would return to play again.
Sand traps did not have any sand. Rough was very clumpy.
OK value. Expected more I guess. Changed alot since the last time I played here
Greens are like Velcro, traps lack sand, overall course needs lots of work. Too bad because layout is fine.
The name belies the quality of the course; it is in bad shape from tee to green. Nice layout, poor maintenance.
Price reflects quality however, OK if you just want to get out and play for a nominal cost; others in area are better value however. Can't recommend .
Most tees and some greens in poor condition
Maintenance of bunkers and surrounding areas poor.
I've lived in PVB for 25 years and played this course many times over the years. It used to be a gem but has been going downhill for the past couple of years. It's on a similar path to Selva Marina. I played SM for the first time a few months ago. Never again.
Good challenge for a value price
You have to set your expectations right - you're not going to pay this price and see a pristine condition resort course. As it was, the fairways were a bit sparse and the long grass around the greens was a bit clumpy, making short pitches somewhat challenging. Plus the sand in the traps was very rough. Greens were pretty good for an inexpensive course.
All that said, I really like the layout. There are two distinct nines here. The front nine feels a bit more modern somehow. The fairways are narrow, greens are well guarded, and there is water absolutely everywhere. You have to hit straight and accurate or you're going to be in real trouble. The back nine seems to have more movement, less water but more trees requiring more creativity with shotmaking. Less trouble so probably overall easier, but there's still a huge premium on accuracy.
I've played here three times now and will keep coming back. For a value course, not bad condition and the layout is fun.
ponta vedra golf and country club at sawgrass
After playing some of the local courses I found this course to be in pretty good shape.it actually had grass in the fairways and on the greens.Who knew.Challenging but not overwhelming.Enjoyed it.
NOT GOOD
To start with website stated full service restaurant so the four of us drive for 90 minutes and upon arrival find the " FULL SERVICE " restaurant did not open until 11am. NO BREAKFAST. The course is in bad need of maintenance. The greens were very inconsistent in speed and with the winter rye grass you could tell that they did not even all get mowed that day. The ones that got cut were VERY slow. maybe a 4 on stimph meter. Then a couple of them were a 8-10 on the meter making it very hard to ever get used to, and putting is my strong suit. NO SAND IN BUNKERS. MORE WEEDS THAN GRASS. No maps of the holes and there is water on 17 of 18 holes and some is hidden. Believe me, it is not one of the finest golf courses located in the Sawgrass community.
Great layout, greens were slow, bunkers need work
Theis course has a great layout. The fairways and rough were in good condition. The greens had very good grass coverage but were very slow from a speed perspective but rolled smoothly. The bunker were very hard packed with little to no sand and need alot of work.
A bit disapointing
I traveled from Orlando to Ponte Vedra to play this course. It was just OK. The price was right but the coourse has seen better days. I think the bones are there but the conditioning of the course is just average at best. I would not go out of my way to return. In fact, I actually played a day earlier than my reservation (my fault!), and they were very accomodating. However, I'm ashamed to say that I did not bother to return the following morning for my actual tee time based on what I experienced.
Very Green
The course was in good shape very easy to chip the ball lots of lush grass, the greens were a littile slow but consistent. I will definately return.
Best Value in Jax
Overall, you just can't beat the price.... There are other courses in the area that are priced around the same as this PVGCC but are not well maintained and not as challenging. Advice to the novice, bring a lot of extra balls, water everywhere. Will challenge skilled golfers but not too overbearing for the occaisional player as well. Just an all around great course, no complaints here...
Great Value
For the money spent this was a great value. I was very pleased with pace of play and the course condition. Tight track, not a lot of room to spray your tee shots.
