About
Two 18-hole courses rest on the 900-acre retreat that is all about golf -- not condos or summer homes. Panther Lakes is the flashier of the two designs at Orange County National, most say, because no two holes are the same. The playing surfaces are lush and the topography is so varied in some areas, some have a hard time believing they're in Florida. The architect made good use of the rolling meadows, grasslands, wetlands and lakes. Visually rich elements saturate the 7,295-yard design.

Would have helped if I had been informed that course was cart path only when I checked in at pro shop. This was physically very challenging for me to complete 18 holes due to the amount of walking I had to do with the wide fairways and hills on the course.

Great Golf Course
This is an exceptional layout.
A pure pleasure to play. There is quite a bit of gooey soggy turf and standing water .. but the layout is fantastic!

Disappointed
Had played Crooked cat the day before, great course great day.
Different experience on Panther’s Lake. Amazing course layout. We were told that it was car path only, we asked about course conditions as we had an opportunity to switch to the other course, we were told they had over-seeding recently but course was still in ‘great shape’. Was not the case, walking was not so much the problem for us, was more of the experience. The new seeds have grown up, long grass in the fairways, very slow greens, etc.
Would play this course anytime as it looks great, i would have preferred to be told as it was, we would have played Crooked cat or elsewhere.

Cart Path Only for Overseeding
Course was good as expected. GolfNow doesn’t make it easy to see Cart Path Only. You see a course alert but can’t see what the alert is referring to. This is a great course but not a good one for cart path only. 14,500 steps on Apple Watch!

Cart path only!
Although the course is a nice layout and is a fair challenge, I never would have made a tee time if I knew it was cart path only. The design of this course has built-up hills along the sides of the fairway. From the cart path you couldn’t see into the fairway to locate your ball. After loading up with a selection of clubs and my range finder I would hike up and over the hills, out to my ball. By the time I assessed the club choice, hit my shot, and hiked back to the cart it was very time consuming and tiring. I had well over 10,000 steps on my watch at the end of the round. My sister who has health issues but still plays a nice golf game was only able to play about 9 holes. It was a big waste of money for her. We should have been told ahead about the cart path rule.
Also, after playing a tiring round we couldn’t find any help to unload our clubs to the car. Only play this course if you are young, very fit and hoping to get a lot of exercise.

Cart path only
I would have liked to see a discount since it was cart path only. Walking up and down those hills on the opposite side of the fairway from the cart path wore me out. Course is in great shape and the greens were fast. If love to play here again once carts are allowed on the grass. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Super time at Panther Lake
Really enjoyed our first visit to Orange County National on the Panther Lake course. Course in great condition except the 7th hole which was still recovering from being low lying and thus was flooded during Hurricane Ian.
35 minute delay on first tee for a midday start time was disappointing.

Be Prepared
Time was for 9:54 didn’t tee off until 10:05. Pace of play is brutal 5 hours in total. Waiting on every hole. While the layout is great and course condition was good. No Marshall presence on the course. The starter was rude acted like he didn’t want to be there. If you have 5 hours to give up I’d say play it but I know I won’t be back.
