The Golf Club at Terra Lago boasts two 18-hole courses, the North and the South, that provide some of the most stunning and unique views of the Coachella Valley. Formerly known as Landmark Golf Club, it was home to the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002, which meant it has hosted a slew of big-name players including Greg Norman, Tiger Woods, and Phil Mickelson. Terra Lago's North Course is the longer of the two at 7,060 yards, which is partly a reflection of the dramatic elevation changes that the golf course tumbles across. From the seventh tee box's lofty perch, you'll get a panoramic view from one end of the valley to the other, making it the golf course's most scenic hole. But it's most challenging is a daunting par 3 with an island green that was the featured hole during the Skins Games.

Overall good experience, course conditions and layout good, pace of play good. Another second tier but decent course in the grossly overpriced desert during March prime time (2X from 2-3 years ago across the board).

A few nagging issues:

Bag drop had only one attendant during afternoon rush causing back up in getting clubs to carts

Starter and pro shop were very friendly though.

Main thing was electric cart died on 16 and we had to walk/carry in. Tried calling pro shop to replace but got put on endless hold with reservations line and could not contact pro shop directly, maybe too late in the day.. Notified bag attendants of cart stuck on course when we came in. They seemed annoyed as were we.

Terralago

The course is in good shape and is a pleasure to play.

The pro shop staff on the other hand could use as attitude adjustment.

A challenging course

The course has some very interesting holes. One reality is that the wind can blow very hard which increases course difficulty substantially.

North course

Difficult front 9 on the North course with interesting holes. Greens were slow and hard to read. Not recommended for high handicapers.

Disappointing all around

I arrived at the course, looking forward to playing it for the first time. There are two courses at the property, the North course and the South course. The North is more highly spoken of and somewhat more expensive. Although I booked and paid for a “Hot Deal” on the North, they had me on the tee sheet for the South. I do not know whether Golf Now or the course messed it up. I pointed out the problem and the clerk agreed to try to move me to the North, when I pointed out that I had paid for it. He said that there was a “tournament” on the North, but found me a time about half an hour after my scheduled time.

I asked about hitting some balls and he said that the range was not open. Accordingly, all I could do for almost an hour was putt on the putting green.

When it was time to play, I noted that the only yardages were 5,800 from the white tees and 6,500 from the yellow or gold tees. There were no “Combo” tees. For a 60 year old 10 handicap, neither set of tees was very appropriate.

Finally, when we got out on the course, it was backed up almost immediately, and stayed that way!

Overall, I did not think it was worth the greens fee for me. For younger, longer hitters, it could well be enjoyable, although they would want an early tee time, before things back up. There are some beautiful views across the valley.

Good years gone by

Conditions more like the south course….which isn’t a good thing. Awful bunkers, patchy greens. The course is not being looked after. Course is in a windy area, making dust storms and sand issues in your eyes from the quarry like surroundings. Won’t play again.

Challenge!

A wild adventure. Pick the correct tee box and you will enjoy the course.. Any shot that isn’t on the flag will funnel into a collection area. Very challenging!

Please give us the pin placements!

I have said this before but it is very frustrating to have raised greens and no idea where the pin is. This is the only course where you don’t get any clue. Who’s responsible for this? How tough can it be?
