Golf Club At Terra Lago - North Course
About
The Golf Club at Terra Lago boasts two 18-hole courses, the North and the South, that provide some of the most stunning and unique views of the Coachella Valley. Formerly known as Landmark Golf Club, it was home to the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002, which meant it has hosted a slew of big-name players including Greg Norman, Tiger Woods, and Phil Mickelson. Terra Lago's North Course is the longer of the two at 7,060 yards, which is partly a reflection of the dramatic elevation changes that the golf course tumbles across. From the seventh tee box's lofty perch, you'll get a panoramic view from one end of the valley to the other, making it the golf course's most scenic hole. But it's most challenging is a daunting par 3 with an island green that was the featured hole during the Skins Games.

Tee off at the 3rd hole, North course Photo submitted by jennifersings on 04/22/2013
Great Day
It was nice to get out with a buddy from work a get a round in, but the course had a few issues.
1) They we’re doing work on the surrounding area (lots of detours that weren’t marked well)
2) Bar/food area was closed
3) Drink cart was nowhere to be found… not cool in the desert.
4) Bunkers looked like they hadn’t been weeded since the start of the Pandemic
5) Local golfer (and I can tell who they are by attitude) kept trying to jump us and play through
Besides that… if you want a course that can really push you and make you feel mortal you should play here. Wavy greens, bunkers in all the places you want to hit and beautiful surroundings. Would definitely come back and play when they get things buttoned up. (And for a random $61 rate in the middle of the day… you can’t beat that in the Palm Springs area.)
Fun until it wasn’t
Great until they pulled 17 pin. Carts due back at 6:20. No mention at check in. Poor play TL
Just a little love needed
Enjoyable but definitely needs the traps worked on……the would make it a fantastic deal and experience
Should have just walked the course … the blockades before the greens are too aggressive and make it annoying…plus the Railroad ties seemed overkill. More, at least some, instructions by the starter on hole position’s would be helpful and overall signage for next tee box would be helpful.
Not worth the $$$
Left Bag at bag drop with a 24 hr surveillance sign. No one approached me etc. Left bag, went and parked, went to clubhouse, paid and told they see my bag on camera and they come and get it. Walk down to cart area, guy said bag will be coming down. Came later and said guy was in a meeting, gave me a cart key and told to get my own bag. Course in terrible condition, greens ok and slippery. Lot of around course and clubhouse construction going on. NOT WORTH THE $100
4th Time ever playing Golf
This was such a great experience. Paired with a local who lives on the grounds. He coached me patiently and even encouraged me each hole and I got better each hole. I Played horrible but who cares. I had so much fun, played a beautiful course one a windy day in the desert. Amazing. That 15th hole. I made land (didn’t land in the drink) and almost parred the hole and I was looking forward to playing this course just because of the 15th.
Thanks Terra Lago.
Nice course.
Difficult to play in the wind. Fairways are tight. But very pleasant. Staff is slow. Waited 10 minutes for my bag to come down and had to ask twice, but otherwise all good. I’d recommend it, especially if you can get it at a good rate.
There are better choices in the Palm Springs Area
Course conditions poor. Needs a lot of TLC. We quit after 14 as we were at 5 hours. No Marshall. No bueno. There are much better choices in the desert, don’t be seduced by the price or the availability.
nice course dont go if windy
a nice course ok fairways fast greens,,paser good..will go back
Unimpressed
The course was in average condition for a desert public course, we weren’t able to use the driving range due confusion on where to get range balls even that they charged $5.00. We didn’t have time to get a refund because their computers weren’t working properly. No beverage cart.
Course in an area that is under construction
Course was a little hard to navigate based on all the construction. Looks like it will be a really nice area when finished. However, it was confusing for a first time golfer there finding the right holes depending on if you’re playing North or South course, especially #10 North. Not good signage.
Championship layout with poor conditions
I'm always willing to give this course a chance, but we had poor reception from the golf shop staff that ignored us for 10 minutes without even acknowledgement that we where there and ready to play. The course is a great layout but even though there is grass in the fairways it is thin to almost rough like conditions. The greens were fast and putted true, but were firm and did not hold many well hit shots. The bunkers lacked sand and any form of maintenance since many were overgrown with grass and weeds. It looks like there are plans for new housing around portions of the course, there is hope that with the new houses there would be better conditions. Other complaints were slow play and the void of any drinking water or cart service. Until there is better conditions and service I will be spending my golf dollars elsewhere.
Disappointed
We played this course last spring '21 and it was in great shape. This spring there's no grass on fairways (cut way too short), bunkers are a disgrace (growing grass and weeds, no sand, hard pan), and greens were horrible (slow and bumpy). The only decent parts of course were tee boxes and intermediate rough which was lush green grass. We noted the construction going on adjacent to course wondering if eventually the course is going to be turned into housing. A true disappointment as we have always enjoyed playing this course every spring.
Last time
This will be last time I will golf there. I have been coming to TL for 10 years and every year it gets worse. Bunkers were total disaster, staff seemed disinterested, construction detours unmarked, Poana everywhere around greens and rock hard non receptive greens.
