Golf Club At Terra Lago - North Course
About
The Golf Club at Terra Lago boasts two 18-hole courses, the North and the South, that provide some of the most stunning and unique views of the Coachella Valley. Formerly known as Landmark Golf Club, it was home to the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002, which meant it has hosted a slew of big-name players including Greg Norman, Tiger Woods, and Phil Mickelson. Terra Lago's North Course is the longer of the two at 7,060 yards, which is partly a reflection of the dramatic elevation changes that the golf course tumbles across. From the seventh tee box's lofty perch, you'll get a panoramic view from one end of the valley to the other, making it the golf course's most scenic hole. But it's most challenging is a daunting par 3 with an island green that was the featured hole during the Skins Games.

Shocking decline in course condition
At the peak of the winter golf season in the Coachella Valley most all the 15 or so courses I've played are in excellent condition. Not so at Terra Lago!
Greens were patched in many places and inconsistent in speed. Many had burned out areas where water laid.
Bunkers were AWFUL with many having weeds and grass others looked like a lake and we've had no rain for 3 months. Still others had little or no sand.
Teeing ground on a few holes was chewed up and thus they were using areas which were not level.
This course has markedly gone DOWNHILL in the last year or so! I won't play it again until conditions improve significantly.
Decent course
Nice layout, short course for the ladies, but played longer due to the elevated greens and many sand traps. Only disappointment… the greens were very SLOW!
First Visit
I was looking for a course that truly lied in the desert and Terra Lago certainly fulfilled it. The course was in great shape and greens were also excellent. The only thing I had trouble with was the speed of the greens, having played at another desert course where the greens were slow. The layout is beautiful, taking into consideration the desert topography. Looking forward to returning now that I've had a chance to play the course.
Beautiful desert course
Layout, playability and views were above average for this course.
We will be back!
We loved the course. Loved the elevated tee boxes for the par 3s with blind pins. Course was challenging, it enjoyable. Staff was great and plenty on hand to help you with your needs. Greens rolled true, fairways were wide, and endless views of the mountains. Loved it and we will be back!
Beautiful Place
Was pleasantly surprised upon arriving at the course.
This place was in incredible shape. Weather was good with a little bit of wind earlier. 4 hour round !
Will definitely come back again. Also, staff was awesome.
Great course but Windy
Played at 2:30 and the wind here tends to be bad but almost unplayable today. Course was not bad at all fun layout and would be great on non windy days or early mornings. Great value for money and had a great time. If it’s not windy it’s a 10/10.
Early ripper
Grabbed the first tee time of the day and it was beautiful. Ripped through in 2 hours 30mins as a single. Course conditions were nice. Tee boxes were well kept and flat, nice fairways, greens were a little slower but they rolled true. Course has great change in elevation and makes for some fun shots. Same with greens, they had some great ridges and slopes. Definitely will be back soon. Staff were really accommodating and friendly.
Great day
The course was in great shape. The greens rolled true, but could be a little faster. Staff great. I will be back soon.
Fun day
I had the 6:50 Tee time today. Courses in great shape. Greens are rolling pretty good. Some of the traps had water in them, but it didn’t hit in too many. :) I would recommend this track
Great layout
Loved the North course layout, great use of elevation. Beautiful conditions…Teebox thru green. Challenging but user friendly. Put this on your list to play, you won’t be disappointed
Understated course - North
I don't usually rate a course excellent unless it's a special resort course, but the conditions of this course were superior. The challenges were mostly the elevations as several tee boxes were many meters above the fairway or greens. Otherwise, most of the fairways were wide and favorable. The grass was full and smooth. The greens were fast and even. Overall, the course conditions were as good as I've seen for private resort courses, but they did not have amenities such as GPS carts, bottled water or even tees or towels. That did not diminish the experience as the course was pristine and enjoyable to play. The day was warm and a little windy, but it did not affect the game much. A few holes border water, and a couple require shooting over water to reach the green, which made them challenging, but not impossible to reach. Despite the lack of superior amenities, it was an excellent course.
Beautiful Canyon-Style Layout and Perfect Greens
Played the North Course at The Golf Club at Terra Lago on a Monday afternoon (2:50 PM matinee rate) with my son, who plays through Youth on Course — incredible value at $5.
This course absolutely delivers on scenery and layout. The fairways wind through desert terrain with great elevation changes, and at times it honestly feels like you’re driving through canyons. The contrast between desert landscape and lush green fairways makes it one of the more visually memorable courses in the Coachella Valley.
The greens were excellent — not too fast, not too slow, just very true and fair. Made putting enjoyable and consistent throughout the round.
Pace of play was ideal for a late tee time. No one pushing from behind, and even though we caught a slower group ahead, it never felt rushed. Perfect setting for a relaxed round, especially playing with family.
Nice added touches like the bag drop service and having clubs ready on the cart made the experience smooth from start to finish. After the round, a staff member even offered to clean my clubs and gave me a ride toward my resort — really appreciated that.
⭐ Overall:
Beautiful, scenic course with great greens and a relaxed pace of play. A really enjoyable round and definitely one I’d recommend — especially for an afternoon tee time.
