Golf Club At Terra Lago - South Course
About
Formerly known as Landmark Golf Club, the Golf Club at Terra Lago was the host of the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002. The club's impressive guest list includes Greg Norman, Phil Mickelson, and Tiger Woods. There are two 18-hole courses available called the North and the South. At 7,044 yards, Terra Lago's South Course is just barely shorter than the 7,060-yard North Course but they are equally challenging. The South is known for having one of the club's most unique and memorable holes, the par-4 second. This narrow hole runs alongside a wide canal that makes anything hit to the right impossible to play. The unique part of the hole comes as you approach the green. To cross the creek, rather than having a traditional wood bridge, the course designer crafted a bridge from an old rail car, which explains its nickname as the "Boxcar" hole.

Value Lacking
Bag shuttle from bag drop nowhere in site. Grumpy proshop staff at checkin. Range balls not included, $5 for tiny warmup bucket. No GPS on carts, no layout on scorecard.
Greens not rolling true, fairways ok
Needs work
The staff were great and very helpful however the greens weren't really in good condition having bald and chewed up spots which was very disappointing. Also without any GPS on the cart and a fair few blind shots unless you know where you are going it’s a little hit and miss.
Good pace of play
Pace was great finished in 3.5. Good group of guys today. Course is still healing from re seed but not too bad. Good value thru GN. Will play again.
fun course, but
fun target golf course, but you need a gps system because the carts have none and only limited posts on the course. No pictures of the holes on the cards or tees so for many holes you are shooting blind off the tees,
almost perfect
2nd time out.
great layout, interesting holes... gusty for a bit, but otherwise fine. Carts were 90 degree after recent overseeding, course is recovering fine.
Good experience!
I had heard mixed things about Terra Lago. The South Course had also just come out of overseeding, so I tempered expectations.
Overall, I was quite pleased! Staff were friendly (I placed my bag down at the front and no more than 10 seconds later it was whisked down to a cart), from the pro shop, to starters, to the cart girls and back shop staff. The layout had a good mix of holes, and despite some rough patches around recently overseeded greens, the rest of the course (fairways, rough, and tee boxes) were in good shape.
I paid ~$85 on GolfNow, and my playing partners snagged hot deals for only $60-some odd. I think the course offers good value at either price point. I will return.
Great Value
2nd time playing the North course in the last 3 weeks. This is a fun challenging course, very friendly staff. Course is in very good condition even though they will be shutting it down for reseeding. Great value for a nice desert course.
Sh@thouse
Soooo DO NOT GO HERE.. Granted they just opened the South course up and everywhere else in the valley was booked or closed for overseeding, but I can't believe that they would charge $90 to play a dogtrack in such bad shape.. I heard the North course was in better shape but these greens were shag fur carpet (with dead/dry spots throughout) and the overall organization and groundskeeping was horrible... Do NOT spend your money here..not for at least a few/6 months
Poorly managed
Poorly managed. There was a 6-some out there. They didn’t tell you it was rough only until after they took your money. Pace of play was atrocious. The staff are great, management appears inept.
Great desert golf
I played the south course..,literally by myself out there because it was 104 degrees.
For October while most courses were
closed for reseeding.,this course was awesome for the price. I will try the north course next time.
Terra Lago South
Course was very scrubby and greens were awful to put on. Saw concessions cart once which cost $21 for 3 beers.
Disappointed with Course conditions
I have played the south course before. I was disappointment this year as the course was subpar compared to past visits. We wanted to play the north, but it was closed. The greens and Fairway were baked out. Needs some maintenance work, but will return.
Nice track
Nice course. Would play again. It should be noted this is a cash less course. Staff were professional and friendly.
First time for the South Course
Overall for this time of year with the desert heat starting to hit the course is still good shape. The greens all roll well and fairways are burnt out yet. And for $64 it is a very good deal.
