Golf Club At Terra Lago - South Course
About
Formerly known as Landmark Golf Club, the Golf Club at Terra Lago was the host of the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002. The club's impressive guest list includes Greg Norman, Phil Mickelson, and Tiger Woods. There are two 18-hole courses available called the North and the South. At 7,044 yards, Terra Lago's South Course is just barely shorter than the 7,060-yard North Course but they are equally challenging. The South is known for having one of the club's most unique and memorable holes, the par-4 second. This narrow hole runs alongside a wide canal that makes anything hit to the right impossible to play. The unique part of the hole comes as you approach the green. To cross the creek, rather than having a traditional wood bridge, the course designer crafted a bridge from an old rail car, which explains its nickname as the "Boxcar" hole.

Golfer Reviews
Love the course, but not so much the course Marshall
We teed off with 2 wonderful gentlemen and were really enjoying our day until the 6th hole.
The Course Marshall came by and in an unpleasant manner, said that we were going to have to speed it up because he said that there were 21/2 holes empty in front of us!! I guess the 3some behind us called the clubhouse saying we were slow. The 3some were long hitters and each had their own cart...what???
How can they say we were slow when we played the front nine in 2hrs & 7mins and we finished the game in just over 4hrs. The course Marshall obliviously didn't have his facts straight.
Is it because there was a woman in our group? The woman actually scored better than 2 of the men!
We've travelled here for 15 years and played this course a lot and have never been told that we were slow.
About the course...we played there a couple of weeks ago and we saw great improvements. The bunkers had sand and the rough is greener...nice change from last time.
The pro shop and cart staff were very friendly, but I only gave "staff friendliness" 1 star because of the rudeness of the Marshall.
Very poor cndition
The poorest presented course I have played in the valley, fairways and greens average but rest of course very poor.No rakes in traps which in itself makes good golf really difficult.
Charged 25 dollars just for my wife to ride on cart.
Cannot compere to North course which I believe is well presented.
This course is not going to get you to return, go to another venue.
Basically good
Greens hard and fast, as expected.
One sign was turned around so we had to backtrack to find the tee.
South Course is in terrible condition
Played the South Course in a terrible wind, lots of cancellations so played single. This used to be a very nice course, not no more. Conditions are terrible with a great deal of neglect and underwatering and no overseeding. Do not book it unless you get it for $20.
Not so good
Views from the course were excellent. Pro shop not friendly; had to ask him twice how to get to carts. Nobody at bag drop. Had to find someone to get a cart. As a single, starter put me out early which was very nice. Course had many hidden surprises; no advice from starter, no GPS , and no course guide/book. Greens small and hard to guage from the fairway; good speed. Fairway grass was good in spots, not good in others. Front 9 was fast; back 9 was over 2 1/2 hours; no marshall.
Unusual layout due to elevation changes and natural landscape
Enjoyable outing. Would love to play again to score better. Much to understand and adapt to
Nice course
Nice course, and in good condition, but take water and a snack as there are no food or beverage sales on the course.
Greens fast and undulating...Bunkers not so great.
The course was in better shape this year than last year except for the bunkers. The first bunker had lots of fluffy sand but others had clay under a fine layer of sand. Also, there weren't any rakes in the bunkers. Other than that it is fun to play although quite tough.
Pace of play was great. Staff was efficient and friendly.
Less than hoped for.
Played South for the first time. Expected better conditions. But, the biggest letdown was the hole designs. Many holes were just not "golf holes," more like they needed 18 and ran out of money.
