Golf Club At Terra Lago - South Course

Although you have 150 6ard markers in the fairway with a red/white/blue cap to identify where the pin actually is on the green this was not the case at all.

This is a gert easy fix every morning to put the correct cap on the 150 marker but even after a week of bringing this up it is still wrong and not resolved. When I asked staff all I got was hands in the air and I was told to just drive up to the green and look. That is good for pace of play.

If we are paying almost $100 to play on the North or South course you should at least give the correct information.

Overall I would say for the price I expected a bit more. The course was overall nice to play. However the clubhouse has zero snack bars open and the grill lacked a great deal! Be prepared to bring your own liquids and food if you play here! Do not rely on the grill to be open or to have any beverage cart service on the course while you play…….so again COME PREPARED TO SERVE YOURSELF YOUR OWN DRINK AND FOOD.

Beyond that the pace of play was slow however I attribute this to the North course being shut down for over seeding and sanding the greens……which be sure to inquire about this time of year before you plan to play to be sure you know what you are getting into.

The greens were variable in speed so it took a bit of getting used to. I think they let the more exposed greens to be cut longer than others changing the speed from green to green.

All this put together is why I feel the price was over what one should pay for such a course. Sure it has its history of being a course the Pros played in years gone by. But that did not justify the cost today.

However overall, I would play the course again…….Though I’d ask for a discounted rate.

To note…… the staff were very friendly.

Bunkers need attention… snd sand.

This used to be such a great facility. But now it’s short of staff, short of carts and poorly maintained.

No carts on arrival, then the carts we were given ran out of juice on hole 12, zero ball washers, sand traps untended and never saw the beverage cart once.

Course in OK condition but not a great outing- too bad.

We were not warned that the course does not come back to the clubhouse halfway. There was an ice and water station after the 11th, however it was locked and closed. It was 94 degrees, so water was a necessity.

Also the offerings at the grill (only food possibility) were limited and the standard was poor.

I had played the North course here at Tera Lago on August 8th of this year and after finishing the 27th hole, the golf cart died on us and the other guy that was in our group used his cart to push us through the 18th and to the clubhouse.

Today, on the 1st hole of the South course , a staff member passed to retrieve a dead cart. The couple I was playing with and I joked about it, not remembering that I had that problem a couple months prior.

Buyback then on the 11th hole, my golf mates had to push my cart to the 12th tee box as my cart died….again.

The course was in great condition. It was just reseeded and the fairways were nice and green. The greens were still sandy due to reseeding. Great course for the money paid.

Restaurant/Bar was OK. Reasonable prices and beer was cold and refreshing.
