Golf Club At Terra Lago - South Course
About
Formerly known as Landmark Golf Club, the Golf Club at Terra Lago was the host of the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002. The club's impressive guest list includes Greg Norman, Phil Mickelson, and Tiger Woods. There are two 18-hole courses available called the North and the South. At 7,044 yards, Terra Lago's South Course is just barely shorter than the 7,060-yard North Course but they are equally challenging. The South is known for having one of the club's most unique and memorable holes, the par-4 second. This narrow hole runs alongside a wide canal that makes anything hit to the right impossible to play. The unique part of the hole comes as you approach the green. To cross the creek, rather than having a traditional wood bridge, the course designer crafted a bridge from an old rail car, which explains its nickname as the "Boxcar" hole.

Great
Will Do it again and perhaps the North course as well
Recently over-seeded, but in good shape
Played south course because North course was still closed for over-seeding. The south course opened around Oct 10 after reseeding, so it was starting to green up nicely. The fairways were still a little ragged, but playable. The greens were in excellent shape, which is what I care about most. We followed the 90 degree cart path rule, which is fine by me. Pace of play was fine. (About 4.5 hours.) A relatively challenging course, with some elevation changes which I didn't expect. Impressive desert scenery.
Needs some work, could be better
Course itself is nice, greens large but not many level, sandtraps are poor (no rakes, very hard sand/mud)
Golfed it in 2019 and much better then, read reviews that said staff unfriendly, but were nice in pro shop and just seemed a bit disorganized for rest.
No drink cart on course and no provision to stop after front 9.
For the money it is overpriced compared to others in the valley, seems they might be struggling with staff issues.
$50-$60 would be a more competitive rate in my opinion.
Gem in the desert
Played Terre Lago for the first time Dec 2. It is truly a desert setting course lots of cut out fairway bunkers with hard pack for sand. Many of the greens are guarded with traps, some rather steep faces. Definitely a target golf layout, was thankful is was playing with locals that knew the course. The front nine greens were in horrible shape, with clumps of grass patches all over them, resulting in more 3 putts than one would expect. The back nine greens were much better, in fact 9 strokes better. Don’t be fooled by the lush green views from the club house - that’s the North Course.
Flintstone golf
Don’t play the south course. A very tight, difficult and unfair course. Dried out fairways. Rocks and sand. I had an unplayable lie 3 ft off the green. It looks like they just threw sod down erratically around the greens and bunkers and are waiting for the sand to blow in and fill the gaps.
No cartgirl on course. We were told there was so we didn’t buy anything to take out on the course with us. Washrooms are scarce.
We called ahead to see if the range was open and we were told it was so we showed up early. It wasn’t.
Fool me once.
Not returning.
Ok
Course was not that great . The rough had sparse areas and sand traps were very poor.
though the weather was perfect, the course was not good.. it's worse than local community golf course.
It seems no one care the course.
Pretty goog
Bunkers are terrible Green we tee just coming into their own. Enjoyed the layout
Not bad but...
Nice course but we prepaid over 100 dollars each, only to find out that neither the driving range or putting green were open. Greens were in good shape and very quick.
course layout is unreasonable, Fairway is very bad condition , leave a lot of bunker without any reason. Use two 40Ft container as bridge. Total very poor condition, is very not worth the price usd203 for two peoples
