Formerly known as Landmark Golf Club, the Golf Club at Terra Lago was the host of the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002. The club's impressive guest list includes Greg Norman, Phil Mickelson, and Tiger Woods. There are two 18-hole courses available called the North and the South. At 7,044 yards, Terra Lago's South Course is just barely shorter than the 7,060-yard North Course but they are equally challenging. The South is known for having one of the club's most unique and memorable holes, the par-4 second. This narrow hole runs alongside a wide canal that makes anything hit to the right impossible to play. The unique part of the hole comes as you approach the green. To cross the creek, rather than having a traditional wood bridge, the course designer crafted a bridge from an old rail car, which explains its nickname as the "Boxcar" hole.

The course is always an interesting and challenging one

The modifications made over the past year have made the course more playable for the average players. The two coloured grasses look nice.

Good Test of Golf

Very interesting layout, in which the holes will penalize bad shots yet award good shots. Greens rolled well with considerable undulation. My friend, a relatively short hitter, played the yellow tees at about 5,500 yards, while I played the blues at a little over 6,000 and it worked out well.

Good course good value

Course was great. Some confusion at cart pick up and range ball pass out. Water and ice station on the 12 hole was locked up mid afternoon on a 95 F afternoon which wasn’t great. No water available on the back nine. Course was in very good shape.

Lost and thirsty

Enjoyed the course, signage was poor. Hard to find the driving range, and tenth tee on the south course. Water stops had no cups, and ice station was closed. Will be bett prepared next time.

Play elsewhere

Poor signage and difficult to find the first tee. Several carts with dying batteries on the course and we had to wait on the 14th hole for a new cart to be brought out for us. Pay more and play elsewhere.

Wouldn’t go back until conditions improve

The staff at the course were great. Very friendly and accommodating. The price was acceptable but the condition of the course left a lot to be desired. The bunkers were terrible with grass and mud in a lot of them. The fairways had very little grass so you felt like you were hitting off clay. The only hi-lite were the greens which were in great condition. Too bad this is a really challenging layout with great staff.

Junior kicked my butt

We teed off just after 1 pm and we were only ones on south course. Played in 3 hours which was nice. Fairways and greens a little beat up. Layout is open but approach shots can be difficult if you don’t hit a high ball flight and are a hacker like myself lol.

Overall a great afternoon.

Potential

This is the first time I played this course through a recommendation. It has the scenery and potential set up to be an excellent value. I was disappointed in the

dry, patchy greens, hard dirt in the bunkers, and overall condition of the fairways as well as the difficult position of the pins in regards to the conditions. Later in the spring I might try it again to see if it improved any. Overall, I had a great time with some buddies and the weather was perfect.

Terra Lago has been in better shape

A combination of construction for new homes and lack of maintenance (no rakes for bunkers) and maybe water has deteriorated the overall quality of the course - still playable but not what it used to be
