Very Slow

I drove down from the LA area to avoid the crowds on a Saturday. When I arrived there were four guys complaining about pace of play and arguing with the front desk. My tee time was 12:16 so all the early birds and leagues should have been finished so I figured I had escaped the rush, but to my surprise the place was packed with foursomes of poor quality golfers. It took two and a half hours (2.5 hrs) to play 7 holes and when we looked at the 8th and 9th holes it became obvious that this was going to be a 6 hr + round. We thought about trying to get our money back but just decided we will never play this course again. In addition the course is really not in that good of shape. Good luck everyone.

Great conditions

I play here a couple times a year. A little pricy ($70) for weekend morning. But the course conditions were great. Greens were smooth and quick, fairways were nice, and rough was decent. Tee boxes not so great, but still just fine. The lady in the snack bar could use a customer service refresher though.

Slow play, no enforcement

The pace of play was slow, due to a 3-some in front of the 2-some in front of us. The 3-some was playing very slow, hitting 2 balls at a time in many instances, and were at least 2 holes or more behind the group in front of them. There simply was no marshal or anyone else to enforce a reasonable pace of play. Made for a long day.

construction

This is going to be a fun course once they're done building it! It's far from being completely remodeled. Construction crew all over the place, with heavy machinery running up and down the cart paths. Hard to find the tee boxes at this point. Pace of play, no problem..as few want to pay $60 to play amungst all the goings on.

Course under construction and a complete mess!

The course is under construction and there was no mention of it online when I booked or in the Pro Shop at check in. Construction workers were everywhere, and showed no respect to the full price paying customers. I never once saw one stop what they were doing or the noise they were making when hitting a shot. One even fired up their non CARB registered tractors right when my playing parting was addressing his tee shot. Unbelievable! Was charged full price plus the booking fee from GolfNow!! I could not have been more disappointed!!

Hard Day on Track

Anaheim Hills is a beautiful place. It's in great shape and the staff was friendly. It's not easy. Deep ruff and with all the hills the lies were insane. The course is in great shape. It's just very challenging. All in all a great place if you're looking for a challenge.

More Information!

With so many course punching their greens this time of year I closely looked over the Golf Now page, NOPE, no reference to greens being punch. But before booking I went to the course site, NOPE, no reference to the greens being punched - or the construction that is taking play on 6-9 of the holes. We paid $60 instead of the going rate of $70 but we paid too much.

Enjoyable Course

I marked the pace of play as poor because we had to skip the second hole to get past a terribly slow threesome. If we hadn't passed them the round would have been four hours (teed off at 6:30AM). We finished in three hours. We didn't see a marshal until the 18th hole, so I felt bad for the people still behind them. Pins were in tough places throughout the day and greens were in good shape. A fun challenge.

Well laid out course.

I have played this course 3 times now. It is a very good course. Probably the most varied course around. A few doglegs, a few holes that need an accurate tee shot, but a few that have forgiving tee boxes. Short and looong par threes. There are a few elevated tees and one huge up hill. Well maintained greens that have plenty of break. They also have a nice short game practice area. I played this for $35.00. Well worth the money. The only bad thing is the last five or so holes always back up.

Love A.H. Golf Course

Great course with a huge variety of conditions and hole types. This course offers par 3's, par 4's and par 5's. It offers downhills, uphills, dog left's and dog right's. It's the most diverse course paired with the beauty of Anaheim Hills. AWESOME!!!

Better and better

I had breakfst which was very tasty and reasonably
priced, and paired up with a gentleman from Long Beach who had only played the course one time.

Pace was good even though there was a group ahead of older golfers, in a group event of 8.

The course was in very nice condition which is usual this time of the year. The greens were above average and speed was about stemp 7 or 8.

This course is tough for a 6300 yard layout; more difficult than you'd expect.

Pass

The best thing about this course is the iPhone app that serves as a yardage book and instant flyovers for every hole. A must have if you play here. I would never play this course again. It's totally unwalkable and many of the holes are laughably ridiculous. Like a 250 yard par three into the wind. Or a par five that is u reachable not because of the length but because of the routing. Driver is not required on any hole. Fairways are tight and 3 hybrid is plenty on most if you can get it out there 200 or more. There are SO many good courses in OC. Don't waste you time on the beautiful yet gimmicky little nothing if a course.

Fun Course, Beautiful Views

This was the first time my wife and I played this course. We (both Seniors and average golfers) thought this course had a little of everything - beautiful views, holes to test golfers of all levels, helpful and friendly staff and a grill with a nice menu. Would we recommend to our friends - You Bet!

Got here early for breakfast with my buddy. On time. Tee off as a twosome. Around 10:40am. Was one of the longest rounds ever. 6.2hrs . ea hole backed up with 2-3carts. Great time hanging out. The pace was ruff. Course was avg. Just not the right time.
