Don't waste your time AND money!

Course conditions were rough. Very slow pace of play. Pace of play aside, which isn't necessarily a huge reflection of the course itself, this course is surprisingly bad, considering it's in such a nice residential area. IF I HAD A MULLIGAN TO USE, I'D USE IT TO PLAY A DIFFERENT COURSE!

Beautiful views

It's a tough course . There are many blind tee shots and narrow landings off the tee .
The greens are fast and in great condition . The landscaping is gorgeous . I will definitely play here again .

Pace of play was excellent

Even with a 8:40 starting time the pace of play was excellent for our 4 some in contrast to past experiences. Course was in good condition with some holes cart path only due to accumulated water and softness. It has been cold at night and the course does not dry out as it would if warmer. I would recommend.

Position course.Slow play

You have to know where to hit your shots. Placement not distance is king. Took over 5 hours. And we never saw a course marshal.

Like the hills and view

Unfortunately the course was punched and sanded a week ago. So the greens were not in good shape overall. Would like to try again some time when the greens are in good shape. Staff was vey good to work with and helpful. View of the valley from the 15th tee was refreshing The 12th was a tough par 5

Anaheim Hills, Hidden!

hidden is the word of the day here, I have lived in SO Cal for over 40 years and never played Anaheim Hills. That makes no difference though as this course is one of those ones that only gets better with age. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the course was in perfect shape.

I will tell you this, it would not hurt to study the course layout first, as it boasts 70% of it's tee shots are hidden fairways, greens and extreme doglegging. A lot of holes are down hill, extremely downhill so shots go much further than you think on a traditional layout.

Have fun, it is a great experience for the money!

Course Needs help.......

I live approx. 5 min. from this course and know why I only play it 2 or 3 times a year. The staff (3 18 year olds in the club house, and 3 80 year olds on the course) know little about running a golf course. You can always add 10 or 15 minutes to your scheduled tee time, and the pace of play is always slow. We played thru a very slow 4 some, only to catch up to a single (hitting 3 balls), who had been put out on #6!! The fairways are in terrible shape, and they greens are very average. This course used to be one of the nicer courses in North Orange county, now , sadly, it is very average, with above average green fees.

Slow play this day.

Course was in fair condition. Fairways a little thin in places and the greens mostly slow and bumpy. Overpriced for the conditions. Pace of play was very slow. Have played it before under better conditions.

Poor Course Management

Online I booked a twosome for 9am tee time on a weekday (Thursday). When I checked in at the pro shop they charged me the green fees and then told me that they were about 10-15 minutes behind schedule. There were six golf carts waiting at the first tee, and when I spoke with the starter, he seemed totally confused on what groups had what time, etc... We hung around putting till 9:40 am, and at that point the starter said there were still 2 groups ahead of us. One of the groups he could not find on his printed tee sheet, but was confused and sending them out ahead of my time I think. I went to the pro shop and asked for a refund as I could not wait any longer. The reason I book a tee time online a week in advance is so that I don't have to wait like a walk on. This course Starter and marshal do a very poor job of managing the pace of play and honoring tee times. I can see being 10 minutes behind, but an hour!!!! no way man...

Slow pace of play

Played the Saturday after Thanksgiving- pace of play was unbearably slow. I can't say this complaint is out of the ordinary for Southern California; I've played for over three years and I can count on one hand the number of rounds that have played at pace or better (~15 minutes per hole).

That being said, this round was extremely slow. Tee time was for 12:40pm- did not tee off until 1:00. We left as the sun was setting around 5:00pm and we only finished 13 holes. The course GPS clocked us at 1 hour behind pace of play when we left the 13th green.

Usually the only times I have finished ahead of pace was a weekday afternoon with me and a buddy with no one ahead or behind.

We all need to start somewhere- I remember when I was a beginner and I couldn't make decent contact with the ball. If you're a beginner, you should probably start off at the range, then play some par 3's before going onto the big course. And if you're struggling to break 110, you probably shouldn't be taking 8 practice swings and reading the greens like you're a pro. Just a thought.

Slow greens, great view.

Slow play was the name of the day, I tee'd off at 12-30pm and only completed 15 holes and those power lines freaked me out, If I play there again it will be early morning.

Slow, lots of blind shots, good views

Our tee time was 12:08pm. Ended up teeing off at 12:30ish? Finished around 5:30. Very backed up and slow pace. They didn't have carts ready, and our carts ran out of battery on the 13th hole.

Course is pretty tough for beginners and the powerlines that are above many of the holes make for a weird atmosphere. The views on some of the back 9 holes are great though.

I wouldn't pay the full weekend price to play this course.

Excessive hills and blind holes

The worst hole on the course was a silly dog leg, uphill par 5. The hole and overall play of the course would be greatly improved by reducing the hole to a challenging par 4. The last 100 yards are uphill to a very small, crowned green that is totally blind.

The electric golf carts are fine and have GPS.

Price increase with no major quality increase

This is a great course. But the recent price hike (probably over a year now so not so recent) was not matched with better quality. The course is the same as it ever was, except now they went back to the older layout with the 1st hole being the par five with the elevated and tiered tee boxes. They should go back to offering a few 20-25$ spots per day, and be in the 40-45 range any other time. Better twilight would improve their rating as well.
