Anaheim Hills Public Country Club

I had forgotten how beautiful this course is. It had been 15 years or more since I played this course and I was absolutely elated to see how good of condition it was in as well as how beautiful the scenery is from every hole on this golf course calls. Are beautiful and the track itself is challenging. Bring your A game to do well here and enjoy.

It was a great day to golf and the weather was excellent. It was the day after Tropical Storm Hilary so I expected conditions to be horrible. I would say they were decent. Certainly some swampy, marshy conditions in the valleys were water would gather. The greens were all over the place and maybe two were in bad condition. At least one felt unplayable. Overall there were not too many people golfing but it still was slow due to cart path only. I think in some spots cart paths would have been fine but overall, I understand you want to keep the course in good condition so it was fine. Staff is always friendly and courteous when I am here. Not overly nice but polite. Will certainly come back. Tee time mid-August was at 3:20 and we only got to hole 17 before it was impossible to see 7:40 pm approx. Only stopped for 5 minutes at the turn to take a quick stop.

It’s a shame that this nice course doesn’t have a starter. Groups of players just show up and lie about their tee times. We booked a twosome and we’re there before our tee time. We didn’t know who else would be playing with us. We asked the group that was teeing off about their time and they said it was at the same time as ours.

Group behind was playing loud music near greens / tee boxes. Same group was hitting up on us on many holes and since there are no Marshalls we had to have a word with them.

Won’t play here again until they fix these issues.

Played here many times however this round started with a group saying their tee time was at the same time as ours. Pace picked up a bit but eventually backed up as weaker players in group ahead were taking many shots.

Along the way the group behind us was playing liar rap music to which we had to ask to turn down. Same group was hitting up on us while we were on fairways.

The course needs a starter and Marshall to keep the groups in line and picking up the pace.

Won’t play here on weekends any more as it’s a total circus.

Course of Play was on the day we played excellent. The course was well maintained and worth the drive from LA. One of the better publich courses I played in Ca. Greens had a few brown spots and were moderate fast; however, true to the read. Woudl play there again. The layout is suited to better golfers I think. Some holes have blid shots from the teebox, and one hole is crammed into the course with a 110 degree dogleg (actually playing backwards for the 2nd shot) which I did not like so much.

Course was in perfect shape and the layout made it really fun

But it took 5 hours for the round.

This was annoying but the great course made up for it.

The golf was great and the grounds were in great shape. One of my favorites spots to play. Only complaint was the group in front of the group in front of us was a little slow (not too slow) but since it was a very hot day, made for a long day. Only suggestion on hottter days that mid-day tee times be spaced out a little more (I know that is hard when you pre book tee times) so that people can get through the holes quicker.

It has been over 20 years since I golfed here. The city has really put in some money to make some improvements. The fairways are nice, the greens are in good shape. It was a busy day but we still got 18 just about 5 minutes behind the pace (4.5 hours) with a mid turn stop at the snack bar. The value of the round was worthwhile. Only bad thing was that it was a really hot day and I would avoid picking a tee time between noon and 3 when it is over 95.

We decided to leave after 9 holes.

Greens are fast and reasonable.

But that is it.

Good course, quite difficult, nice environtment.

But pace was slow, we have to wait 10 min every holes and the back player keep building up but the front group was not able to move faster.
