The Gopher Plantation
How does anyone who plays golf come back a 2nd time to play this gopher course?
Not us. They should torch this course.
Goat Track
If you like playing on a poorly maintained gopher course, you're going to love Dad Miller's Gopher Course.
I actually think they still use goats to keep the grass low. This is truly a Goat Track. A big waste of money.
Great golf, but bathroom issues
The pace of play started getting bad on the back 9. The restrooms were ALL closed except for the one in the club house. Kind of inconvenient.
The greens were in pristine condition. The fairways were beautiful. Overall, not bad.
Back 9 not too good
Greens are generally good except no roll out, slow. The front 9 fairways are okay, lots of gopher holes. Back 9 is a different story, fairways are pretty bad, played the front 9 in just under 2 hours, back 9 was very slow, caught a group that was in no rush, practicing putting while we were waiting in the fairway. No marshals. On 16 we saw they were two holes behind. 3 hour back 9
Dad Miller
I heard so much about this course, that it was long, well not really. The par fours and fives were reachable. The par threes were a bit lengthy. The true challenge here was the narrow fairways and the mature trees with hanging branches that needed to be navigated after a wayward tee shot. I hit a few low beauties out from under some trouble on the front side. Didn't know I had those shots, they saved pars and bogies. The back nine has water canals that require thoughtful tee shots and a course knowledge for direction in that there are a few blind spots. I'm a 12 handicapper, shot an 80 with two doubles on the back nine Par fives, one lost ball, another I came up short on the approach and the following chip with two putts, pared the other two... so I played well, the greens rolled true, was right around the hole all day. Tough, challenging course that is a lot of fun.
JPA
Post Covid

Easy layout
Putting green and range are both open
Will play again
Golf after Covid
The course is actually in nice shape , the pace of play was OK for a Saturday. Super nice golf carts. Definitely recommend and will play again.
Great day of golf
Course in great shape. Only downside was no pins in the hole. Had to guess where to hit to the green
Easy pro shop check in, very cool golf carts, greens were in great shape, pace of play good.
enjoyable round of golf
Had a very enjoyable day of golf thanks for making this a fun day will look forward to playing Dad Millers again soon...
FLOODED AND 9 HOLES CLOSED
This place has a wash/riverbed next to it that floods during heavy rains. These flood waters over-flow onto many of the fairways making them unplayable. Thus, they close 9 holes of the 18 holes and allow players to play the same 9 holes twice. It is understandable that course management has no control over this issue. HOWEVER, they should make players who are booking this course during these floods aware of this issue prior to booking and NOT wait until we are checking in at the course. And then they still charge normal rates for this type of round. Terrible way to handle the situation in my opinion. I won't be back.
Modified Nine Holes and Poor Conditions
Played Dad Miller on Dec 29th using GolfNow to reserve the time. Arrived to find that the course was flooded and they pieced together 9 holes (played twice in a round) to make an 18-hole round.
This should have been noted by the course on GolfNow, so anyone reserving would know before making a tee time. The price was more than twice what would be reasonable for those conditions.
On a positive note, the greens were in excellent condition. The rest of the course was not good at all.
Not worth $50
I’ve played munis for $40 that are better than this. the course is pretty short, not many driver holes. And the grass has a lot left to be desired. Greens were decent though.
Not bad
Dad Miller has certainly cleaned up it's course. The Tee boxes could use a little more care but the greens were in great shape. Overall, this course was worth what we paid.

There are pins now and they have a very good device to take out your ball without touching the cup.
