Holy Cow…
My cart had trash in it and the previous player’s scorecard still attached to the steering wheel. The cart guy was sitting right next to it in his cart when I walked up. I tell him who I am and my tee time. He tells me the 11:26 group already went out, but it was only 11:17. He drives down to the first tee while I load up my cart. There is a twosome teeing off, as he drives away he doesn’t bother to tell me whether or not I am going out with the twosome. The golfer lets me tee off and I assume I am joining them. He says go on ahead. Well, cool. I love playing as a single. The course - tee to bunker to green, was not in good conditiion. I skipped a few wholes just to keep playing. I got hit by a foul ball. (The guy was apologetic, it was no big deal actually.) A single ahead of me had a dead cart and to run and get a new one (hey, it happens) I skipped another hole finished on 17 and got out of there. The good news is
I went to Pala Casino afterwards and made my green fee back.
Not good
Really, really rough course conditions. No green maintenance. Even the sand traps were in bad shape. Steer clear of this place.

Run down
Went there on a Saturday. Didn't seem busy until we got to the 3rd hole and found it was backed up by 3 other groups waiting in front of us. Too many squirrel and gopher holes. Leaves and overgrown grass cause ball loss in fairways. The store/ pro shop closed before 2 pm when we passed by to purchase a drink on the way to hole 10. We just left after hole 11 and didn't even finish the round. Was pretty disappointed after driving 45 minutes to go play there. Will not be going back.

Course in need of some TLC. Used the round as an opportunity for practice. I felt like old Tom Morris must have felt playing the links at St. Andrews........... but ,then again expectations should be kept in perspective.....you get what you pay for. It was a great practice round and I would do it again for the price.....

I’d like my money back

A Disaster
The course is a cow pasture. It has fallen into total disrepair. The is NO food or drink available, fairways have hundreds of ground squirrel holes and mounds, greens are bumpy and weed infested. The entire building is closed except for a check-in. I played this course over 20 years ago when it was decent but according to an employee I talked to he blamed management. Don't waste your money at any price. Sorry for the harsh review but it's all true.

Worst course ever!
Won’t waste time writing a detailed review. Worst course ever. Don’t waste your time or money. This course needs to be closed to the public… they’re just stealing your money at this point to “play this course”.

Very dry and terrible course
When I played the course in the 90s, it was one of the best courses in all of San Diego county. But this course has diminished severely. The greens are in very poor shape the sand traps have no sand. The fairways are full of gopher holes like severe. The fairways are dry or very thick with grass , A very poorly maintained course. I don’t know what happened between the 90s and now but is a completely different course.
A steady decline
Every year I visit San Diego and play Castle Creek. With each passing year, the course looks more and more ragged than before.

Run down course and poor customer service
I went there early to work on my short game. When I checked in a stupid kid took my money and rudely told I cannot go out early. I stared at him and told him that was not my intention for coming early.
The course itself was poorly maintained. I can imagine it being torn down and turned into residential housing.
I would not waste your time there.
Never Again
Was a Holiday, my 2 boys and I were bored wanted to play golf and have driven by this course for 15 years so decided to play it as everywhere was booked.
It's sad really. In the day was probably a great track. Now it's a colossal waste of money to play here bordering on fraud. Can't imagine how bad it is almost a year later since we played.
Checked it off the bucket list, this "course" will make a great developememt for homes someday.
