Greens condition Photo submitted by manuelbravo on 09/06/2017
This course continues to go down hill
I have been playing this course for many years and it is extremely disappointing to watch this course go into the tank. The "new ownership" came in and put in new cart paths an several holes. The paths needed repair but so did the playing areas. Golfers do not play on cart paths but on fairways and greens. Several greens are 60 to 70 percent gone. I played recently and even more greens are suffering from a fungus infection. Areas off the fairway have rough 6 to 12" deep. Area next to the greens have grass that is so deep you could lose a ball. Poor maintenance practices.I believe that the "new owner" is listening to the wrong people on how a golf course should be run. If the course does not improve then play will continue to go down. It appears they want to put more money in the restaurant than the course. How many people will go to the restaurant if the course is not there? The "new owner" needs to wake up before he has no clientele. Next time I will post pictures.
Grreens Coming Back
The course greens have been in poor condition the last time I played, however today the greens were decent and one could see there is effort being made to bring then back 100%. For the price, pace of play, and general course layout, you cannot find a better deal.
Course needs work
The putting greens where terriable, they have fungus on them and need to be redone. The fairways where trimmed but overall the course is in rough shape. The staff says the new owner is going to put money into the course. I have yet to see any improvement over the last 2 months. I think he will let the course go and sell the property to put homes on it , just like the guys that bought the Escondido county club. Which I believe they are still in court fighting the city. Don’t waste your money here !
CRISPY CREEK
Played this course many time in 2004-2006 - great layout usually great condition then - BUT NOT NOW- Greens were something to be found on a backyard course Not a"championship" course as the sign says. Very little grass to speak of - lakes were dried up....VERY DISAPPOINTED in what has happed to this layout. Need a marshals on pace of play - a single in front of us was playing 3 balls one each hole......
Great changes
The course has come a long way and is getting better. Greens are finally coming back----just need to actually have sand trap---not mud collection area's. Keep up the good work.
Mr.
We played on Sunday (Father's Day).
It was all good. We had a Great Time.

Price was right, but they need to water the course!
Interesting layout, some fun and challenging holes. The greens were in bad shape though. I couldn’t make a putt to save my life because the greens were bumpy, lumpy and dry in many places. They were very slow and didn’t role true at all. The back nine is pretty, but I’m probably not coming back unless they do something to improve conditions. Kinda feels like they might not be around too much longer unless something changes. BTW, I had a hot dog at the turn which was microwaved and the bun got melted into the cardboard carrying tray. The best thing was the course was pretty empty so I could hit a couple of practice shots once in a while.....
Challenging layout but greens are awful
Greens have several different grasses and weeds and are slow. Most sand traps are inadequate. Frustrating!
Much improved
The greens are almost normal. Much much better than a few weeks sgo.
It was so quiet & the green fee was so reasonable. Enjoyed very much.
A very old facility that could stand some updating
Quiet, cozy old neighborhood. Very nice people! It is a good inexpensive day there. Not a lot of imagination put into the layout. Close enough to Temecula to make it worthwhile
Castle creek
Course is in bad shape. Blotchy fairways and greens. Too bad because this used to be a nice course fairly priced.
played here last year needed work but has come along way in great lengths looking good, I live close by and now will go more often.
Course in bad shape
This course is in horrible condition. I will not go back and will not recommend it to anyone. Greens are patchy with lots of bare spots. Little difference between fairways and rough and not much green grass, mostly brown. Pace of play was good likely because most people don't want to play this course in this condition. Strange thing is the pro shop has nothing for sale. No balls, tees, shoes, hats etc.
Great Day on the Course
Had a very nice Fast great day! A few greens had some issues. The fairways need to be cut. I believe they are trying to get it to grow back from the winter before the first cut of spring. I will always golf there. Very nice course.
this was the first time we played this course in about 4 months. greens have improved since then. a couple of greens still had some rough spots. i play 160 rounds a year and if the course conditions continue to improve, i will be back. for $28 on a saturday morning it is a good deal. it is not a bomb and gouge course.
Course Condition Problematic
Some green OK, most had bare patches or signs that the motorcycles had been there. Fairways were not great relative to other North County courses. Price was very reasonable, but I would have rather paid a little more for a better conditioned course. Probably will not play there again for a few years anyway.
