The good thing is the pace of play since no waiting on even one shot. Twosome played in 3 hours. Poor maintainance, some greens only had grass on 50% of surface, debris (tree) on many areas, even a tumbleweed in the middle of one fairway, and lastly non-existent cart paths torn up with rebar waiting for the concrete to arrive.

Good course, challenging. Slow play. New Construction is taking too long. Greens are in poor shape. Starters are nice guys. New owner.

We had played recently and noticed that the cart paths were closed and forms for concrete were in place. I was excited to invite friends and show them the face lift that the course was undergoing. To our surprise the cart paths weren't done and the greens were in really bad shape with the fungus spreading to over half of the greens. Fungus was interrupting ball lines in a bad way. We kept questioning why cart paths were still torn up for so many weeks after forming them up. It looks like serious money problems for the course and a poor attempt to fix it. I'd guess it needs an owner to come in and close the course and get it in shape, raise the green fees a bit and move forward. The course is in a sad state.

I have to say, the staff was very friendly and caring as much as possible.

Looks like recovery with the greens but fairways are coming along! The announced repairs of pathways are coming along, much to the detriment of the poor carts. Good game and good track. Maybe trim the leaning branches and at least one dead pine tree at the challenging 10, 11 and hole 12 corridors though. Looking forward to the finished product at Castle!

I haven't played this course for about a year, so I could compare from last year to this date. The fairway is greener, more grasses, was very quiet. But more than half of the greens are awful. I guess it's fungus.

What we kept wondering was how come they are repairing the cartpath not the greens. The first priority

is to upturn the greens and put fresh healthy greens.

I feel sorry for the new owner.

Trees all over better hit it straight greens bad shape but for price ok.

I have played Castle Creek 20 or so times. Old school course with some challenging holes and some easier ones. For a Saturday, pace of play was good (4 hours for the round) and the course was in decent condition. A few greens were in tough shape with bumpy dirt areas. Overall great value and fun round. For less than $30 with cart, I’ll be coming back.

Have played course many times and have found the conditions fair to good. The last three rounds have found the Fairways in fair condition but the Greens are in very poor condition. Will not be playing this course in the near future.

Castle Creek is one of my favorite golf course. It is fun to play with very friendly staffs. But the green surface of some green are infected with bacteria and need to be fixed.

More than half the greens were in the worst condition you can imagine.They were full of some kind of fungus that was so bad it made the green unrecognizable.I took the day off from work to play here,bad choice.

Met the new owner who has enthusiastically put his heart and soul into making this course great again. They have a ways to go, but at this pace I expect much will be done over the coming months and year. As it plays right now... the greens and bunkers need work and some areas are a bit more humble than others. However, an abundance of TLC across the layout is starting to take place. Cost was low in light of current condition, but level of service and food items were first rate. Looking forward to returning soon.

Tee boxes good condition, yhe greens where in very poor condition. I think once the green conditions are resolved this course is definitely worth playing!

Course is in renovation or repairing, cart path reconstructions on holes 1, 10,11. Most greens are not a green.. terrible condition- half of them bare ground, patched ugly here and there. Should take a long time to get back to normal or at least they used to be.

The price of $20 was great for San Diego County was great as was the pace of play, about 3-1/2 hours. This is a nice, older-style course with the only serious drawback being the condition of the greens. Was aware in advance that the greens had been aerated about two weeks before, but the real problem was a fungus that has taken over many of the greens. The greens need serious work, in some cases total replacement. Their attempt at patching is not working.

This is a Great Value course with some very interesting and challenging holes however the greens are non existent.

Layout is good with views all around. Fairways are hard, bunkers are pure dirt and most green with bald areas. However good practice for $10 from golfnow.
