SHORT COURSE THAT CHALLENGES

The course was in overall good shape. There were a few soggy spots out there but it was to be expected after all the torrential downpour we've had lately! This was our first time out on this course and we did not expect too much from the yardage listed....boy were we wrong. Narrow tee boxes, a creek that winds it's way through nearly every hole and water....oh was there water! If I had to list a complaint, it would be the bunkers, I didn't make it into any of them but 2 of my buddies did and it like hitting out of a quarry according to the guys. ALL I CAN SAY IS HOLE 15 IS A GREAT CHANCE AT A HOLE IN ONE!!!! 96YDS....GET YOU CHIP GAME RIGHT!!!!

Will never play here again

Course was horrible. Grass was dead, weeds everywhere, mud everywhere, bathrooms for paying customers were the same as the workers in where the golf carts are cleaned and they were filthy. Thought we were getting a good deal @ $20 a piece but when we got there were charged another $15 each for a cart. Total rip off for that course. Will never play their again.

My Round

Overall this is a fun course and still can be a challenge

for the average golfer especially from the blue tees. Only complaint was the lack of mowing to the roughs. If you put a ball in there good luck in finding it.

We love this little course

This course is short, but not easy. There is trouble on both sides with creeks and woods. Never have had a problem with pace of play and the course is usually in pretty good condition. It's our go to course!

Not a good deal

I booked with 2 players for 18 holes with golfnow.com. When I arrived the attendant said that they no longer affiliate with golfnow.com. We got to play anyway, but we were charged $15 per person to use one golf cart. So the total price to booked is $26 for 2 players plus $30 to use one golf cart. For the amenities that this golf course provide, this is too expensive and it's not worth it.

Precision golf

The course layout is somewhat challenging. But learning how to play in this course layout help me to manage my golf swings and aim. I figured if I learn to play here, the other golf courses will be easier. Bring extra golf balls. Overall, I enjoyed playing here.

The Blind T Shot

Lots of narrow fairways and blind T shots, not mention the creek hazard on most of the course. Amazing I started and finished with the same ball. Number 7, a men's par 5 number 1 handicap. Hit your T shot to a narrow dog leg fairway and then there is 70 foot tree in the middle of the fairway, hit your 2nd shot and wish it well. The greens are in very good shape and running well. This course demand patience.

the course is good for a senior

A lot of the par 4 s are short and make it a lot easier for many seniors who don't hit far off the tee.

Good greens, Goid Value

Been playing here for 9 years atleast twice a month sometimes 5 or 6, never seen the greens look so good, their super slow but a great place to work on making firm putts. Consider this my home course and it is a tough test of golf for sure considering it's a stretched out Executive!

Fun Course!

I play at Cal Oaks quite often and always enjoy myself. It is a bit challenging, but once you learn it, it's a lot of fun! Even on the weekends I hardly ever have to wait on other groups of golfers, or have someone right behind me. The guy behind the counter is always friendly and accommodating. Is it the best course around? No but it isn't bad either. I will be playing there this Saturday.

Don't get confused and book the walking rate

Be sure to double check what rate you are booking. If you book the walking rate, they are NOT accommodating whatsoever to book a regular golf now time. They will just add $12 per person to ride making this course over $36. There is much better value for that rate in Temecula. Look around. FORE!

don't bother

Course was in bad shape.... obviously they tried to lengthen the holes by adding new tee boxes. End result was that you cannot tell where the holes go from the blue tees! I put balls in the water because I did not know about hazards in the middle of most fairways! The pics showing the individual holes were all weathered to the point they were useless. Also did not like being told I owed $24 for a cart because it was not included in the golfnow rate!! Stay away from this course!!!

Cal Oaks You get what yu pay for

The course conditioins were pretty bad. Considering how the weather has been lately I really expected better conditions. The course is very short, but that is not a complaint, just making note of it, rather that be good or bad for you. The staff in the pro shop were friendly enough. They check you in and get you out on the course efficiently, even was kind enough to let me start on the back 9. The golfers I came across were all friendly, and the pace of play was pretty good. The only complaint I would have, is the condition of the fairways. However that complaint is mitigated by the fact that I only paid $10. However if you book on Golfnow just make sure your paying attention to the walking and riding rates. I booked for $10 but had to pay $12 at the course for a cart. $22 for an entire round, i wouldn't pay that again to play here. But if I can find a hot deal for $15 that included cart, I would consider it.
