About
Redhawk Golf Club is one of California's 10 best public courses. Located on the outskirts of San Diego in Temecula, the course is home to one of the southern California's only island greens. The layout is challenging no matter what your skill level but it is still immensely enjoyable. The golf course features dramatic elevation changes, narrows fairways that demand accuracy, and multi-tiered greens that are well conditioned. There is ample water on the course but its use feels natural rather than arbitrary. The numerous strategically placed bunkers are equally as challenging, if not more so than the water hazards. Every club in the bag will see some use at Redhawk Golf Club. From the elevated tees, golfers can enjoy views of the surrounding vineyards for some scenic respite from this formidable test.

What happened?
Red hawk is almost unplayable the greens are horrible the fairways look like trash greatly disappointed in the current conditions especially for the price..
Worse than Winter Conditions
I hadn’t played this course in over 15 years. I was very disappointed by the conditions. We’ve had rain recently & this layout is narrow & runs through the hills. The fairways we dormant but cut so short that it was like we were hitting off firm, wet dirt, not grass. The rough, on the other hand was green & deep. The greens have had some damage. There were sodded areas & bare patches. Tough round of golf.
The layout is beautiful & I hope that the owners can return it to it’s former glory.

Winter golf
Overall, course in good shape green speeds were slower than expected. Some greens having condition issues. But always a nice course to ply.
poor greens
I use to play this course A LOT....boy things have changed. Greens may have a fungus?? really bad. Grass in fairways were dormant, but that was to be expected. I paid 50.00 on a deal thru 3rd party.....30.00 too much. It will be awhile before I go back, hopefully the greens will be in great shape by then.

Conditions Vs price
Course is way overpriced for its condition and pace of play. Surrounding courses are either the same or lower in much better conditions. Used to play at least 3 times a month. I have moved to other near by courses because of the price increases and conditions of the course.

Conditions were not nearly as good as they were in August
I know we are in the middle of winter conditions, but Redhawk was always better than the average course when I last played there in August and mid summer. What happened? NOW the fairways were no better than courses I play for half the price. Greens are still good but the fairways went from a solid "8" to no better than a "4". Most of the other courses I play for half the cost have only gone from a "5" to a "3" in that same period of time!
BTW, you have to check in with the starter (no different than most courses) but he wasn't wearing a mask and many of the golfers checking in with him were not wearing masks either. That's NOT good!
I will try Redhawk again in late spring to see how well it comes back. I still think it's a really good course. In the mean time, I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Great Layout with good turf.
Had a very good day despite the wind. Tee to green as good a course that I've played since the pandemic. Many of the greens were not in very good shape while others were fast and true. There were as many downwind holes as there were into the wind so that sort of balanced out the round. Pace of play on this day was excellent, finishing in about 3 1/2 hrs. Since I live on the coast, I haven't played here in quite a while but my neighbor and I had a good day all things considered and plan to come back.
Excellent for money
Great golf course and fast greens. Friendly staff and pro shop. Tee boxes need some work but who doesn't!!

Terrible condition
This course is in the worst shape I’ve ever played it in. Fairways are dead. Just short dead yellow grass. No benefit to good tee shots. Greens are so torn up and patchy. I won’t be playing here again for awhile.

Dont Waste Your time
Avid Golfer. No sour grapes. Greens, fairways and overall conditions are horrible. Played this place years ago and was very nice. Very unfortunate the course has gone to heck. Photos are deceiving.

Worth the money spent
I have played here before and always have been a fan. The greens on the back 9 are bad with a lot of dirt patches but the front still played like it used to. Really like the course, but hopefully the back 9 greens recover.

I was ready for the fairways to be dormant but I was not expecting the greens to be in such bad shape. A couple were seriously not playable.
Horrible Conditions
Course is unplayable. Greens are mud and dirt. Stay away until conditions improve.

Not sure what happened
It has been more than a year since I played here. The fairways were dormant (expected) but the greens were in very bad shape. Overall a disappointing round. I will try again mid summer to see if they make progress.
