Just Ok. Should really cost $40 and not $65 though...
If they charged $40 instead of $65 I would feel I got my money's worth. Ok course with some challenging holes otherwise its a stroll in the park with some clubs.
Great course
Beautiful course and layout, early am rounds conflict with grounds crew maintenance, would recommend not teeing off until at least 7 am during this time of the year. Had to wait on multiple tee boxes for sprinklers to finish but pace of play was still fast.
Good value, slow pace always
I've played it since it opened. It's always played slow. With a better "ready golf" mentality you could get around quicker, but there's a lot of trouble to be found on this course, and also back to back par 3s on the second nine where things pile up. But it's a good test and the greens were nice, the carts new, and it's usually one of the better values in town. No driving range anymore. I think a $5. fee to hit into a net for a full paying customer is wrong.
Lots of variety
Interesting layout. Not boring. Can't see any other holes from the hole you're playing. Good greens. Fairways OK. Lots of distance between holes makes it not possible to play real quick. But we still played in 4 hours. No range. Just a net. Nice short game area. Overall, a fun experience.
Great as always
This course is always in immaculate shape. The greens are smooth and beautiful. Take a little extra time looking at your putt though because these don't always break the way you think they should. Great course.
THE HILLS
Good course,, fun to play, I would play it again the next time I'm back in town
Pace of play
Great course. Challenging. However, pace of play was almost outlandish. I am used to 5hour rounds in San Diego but 5 plus encroaching in 6 hours is too much. The staff was great but they need to weeks golfers with pace of play. I understand golfers come in all levels but this was a bit much in my opinion.
Fun Layout
Enjoyed course. My kind of challenge. Some long holes played short down hill. Short holes up hill played very challenging. Three par 3s all you want in length from back tees. Love having to hit your spot to score. Great shot makers course.
Good old challenge / fun golf
Played here 8 years ago - still nice with a few tough holes that test shotmaking.
Enjoyable course in north county San Diego
My brother-in-law and I enjoyed playing this course with our friend and a pick-up partner named Jesse, who had played the course many times before. The conditions were excellent, and since it was the 2nd time on the course for me, I had a slightly better feel for it, and that improved my overall impression. The play was a little slow though, although you can't ever really blame that on course management; they have GPS units in all the carts, and the pro shop will send out little reminders if you aren't keeping up with the group in front of you.
We had a twosome behind us that got a little uppity and hit into us on the par 3 12th (while we were still on the green), but again, you can't blame mgmt for a couple of idiots.
The refreshment cart was fully loaded, and the course itself is aesthetically pleasing. Use the GolfNow app to get 10% off your first booking, and a deep discount off the $69 weekend fee.
Great course
This place has always been a hidden gem and today was no exception. Course is in phenomenal shape and the staff was very friendly. Must play course for the money thru golf now
Best trek for the money in the area
Always love playing the Ranch. Offers multiple looks and lots of carry. Hard to play consistent rounds there due to the difficulty and elevation changes.
IN THE TOP 5 BEST G.C. IN SAN DIEGO
GREAT COURSE, IN GREAT CONDITION AT A GREAT DEAL. BY FAR BEST DEAL IN TOWN! $18 W/CART & GPS... DEFINITLY GOING BACK
Great golf course
The weather was great, the course is in great condition and the staff is friendly. Thanks to Brooke, our cart girl serving cold beer, it was more enjoyable. The only complaint I personally have is how long it took to play 18 holes.
Tough course
What a tough course! You have double water holes, rocks, troughs, sand traps with boulders, etc. The scenery is lovely, the course is in great shape, but it's awfully hard.
Need a cart
Course was being spring under seeded and greens were being top dressed. Rules were cart path only. This makes for a ton of walking and slows the game way down. Would have been a fun course if carts were allowed.
another pleasant day
i played this course befor and i know it's chalenging and course management is a must, i met 2 new friend ;friendly indeed and thats what made me feel relaxed ,played well and had fun for the rest of the game.
sincerly,
billy
Good Times!!
I had some family in town and had different skill levels in the group. We had a great time as the blue and white tees really make a difference on the level of difficulty. We all will back soon! We didn't have to exchange any of the carts on this long separated hole course either! Clean bathrroms
Wow! Gorgeous and sporting!
For a temporary (two-month) visitor from MN, playing this course was trip into scenic golf heaven!
The golf became secondary to drinking in the beauty of the holes and their settings.
The difficulty and challenge may bring those who worry about score to their knees in tears, but it's well worth the experience. I managed to stay out of the sand all day, but there's plenty of other trouble.
An amazing value, given the quality of the course! I shall return -- again and again! What a treasure!
