Fun Course
I've played this course many times and it is a great value. The course is in good condition and the holes are pretty fun.
There isn't the super friendly greeting that you get from most courses, but the staff isn't rude either.
Pros: Reachable holes with lots of undulations that keep the game interesting and makes you think about the best club for each hole instead of just grabbing driver.
Cons: Patchy fairways, cement bunkers, usually not a Marshall to keep the pace of play going and the pin isn't switched daily so there get to be some roughed up holes that are shrunk due to days of putts going in and getting pulled out.
Mission Trails is overall a good track with tons of potential.
Better than I Expected!
I played MTGC last on May 23, 2025 and I must say the course was in excellent shape! The fairways were public-course lush; the greens were grown in, tight, green, well-paced, and cut and rolled (as always, I wish golfers fixed their own ball marks … and divots!). Tee boxes were fair to good. Bunkers could use more sand and were generally wet. Green fees were high with a cart, however, in line with, and relatively “fair”, as measured against other courses in SD County. Definitely very playable and enjoyable.
Most improved course!
I use to play this course as a ayers club member. The course was in poor condition back then. I played for the first time in about 4 years and can't believe the improvements. It was awesome to see and play!
Nice greens
Overall a pretty decent course for price. Only complaint was the less than friendly man who worked in pro shop. It was our first time playing there so we weren't familiar with the layout of course, he didn't tell us where to grab a cart ( they were out of sight from where we were in the pro shop), he didn't tell us we were partnered up with another pair and then was rude telling us we're up now 15 minutes before our tee time. He wasn't your typical golf pro who is helpful and friendly, not really an enjoyable welcome to the course and start to the round.
This course good for beginners
Extremely slow green, looks like the hole have not move for a few days grass over grown over the hole made them look small. reasonable green fee only reason for us to come back.
It was great even if I wasn't
Windy front nine, but the greens were good and tee boxes in decent shape.
Excellent value. Everything will speed up as summer approaches.
Great course!
First time here and the greens were really good. Fairways were nice and there are some challenging holes too.
Good local course
Having played several times over the years I’d have to say it’s bordering not worth the price. It’s a solid local course but it’s tough to maintain and it’s closer to the $50 value it used to be than the $75 I paid. If you’re gonna spend $75+ you might as well find a better course.
Played an old favorite and enjoyed it!
We had not played MT in 20 years, but found it in good conditions and fun playing.
I said the same thing. The holes definitely do not get moved very often. I've also had them in the middle of an undulation so maybe the greenskeepers just need a little OJT.
