Island Pointe Golf Club

From tee to green this course is in great shape. Played over Memorial Day Weekend, despite the rain during the prior week. Traps need to be spun, and I was told that was going to happen, the maintenance got behind with weather. Fairways are beautiful and greens rolled well, and were receptive.

Overall very happy we played. Had friend last visiting from out of State and they loved it too. Hard to beat the value for the layout and conditions. Very happy. Great way to spend the holiday.

10:00am tee time, arrived at 9:30am, told we'd be about 20mins behind schedule. They could've offered a bucket of range balls, but didn't. Went to the range, came back at 10:15 as told, then informed we're next in line to go out, pull up to the first tee with (3) 4somes still waiting to tee off.

Actual tee time 11am, a full HOUR after the time we booked. This is not acceptable. I get being busy but this is the longest non-weather delay I've ever had and all I got was shrugged shoulders. Would certainly question coming back as its not the easiest location to get too to start with, especially with a 5 hour round on top of it.

Was not told half the greens were in poor shape. Should not have been full price

course is a favorite of my regular group. We come over from a neighboring state a few times a year. About an hour and half drive. Booked online, the only option we were given. Fees,taxes,and all 52.00...normally not an issue for quality conditions. However this place is in horrible condition. Rough is completely overgrown, bunkers haven't been touched in weeks, unplayable. Greens very hairy and then some bare spots. The restrooms are unusable out on the course even though the starter gives a speech about location of bathrooms as a suggestion to use them. Recently changed owners so?? Needs to be shut down and worked on for a couple weeks if it's to survive. Completely overpriced for current conditions.

I am a USGA member, 12 handicap,play lots of golf in hundreds of locations. Scored 88 on this day. Playing by proper USGA rules on this course in these conditions was extremely difficult and almost unfairly unplayable. Covid 19 aside, played a dozen places during the pandemic and all have kept the course conditions playable.

This is the second time we have played this course, it’s beautiful,very well maintained.

I am amazed how beautiful this golf course is. I am amazed that you’re not playing in a subdivision. I am amazed by the wildlife that you can see, Bald eagles , Cranes, Hawks, dear, almost like going to the zoo. I am amazed that if you’re a senior golfer it’s only $28 Mon-Fri. amazing I am amazed by the beautiful views of the Smoky Mountains and the beautiful view of the French broad River. I am amazed that two people can play the same golf course the same day and see two different things One guy Must have had a terrible day. And my final I am amazed that I played golf for 60 years and I’m still not very good.

I have played several rounds here this year. In the cooler weather the greens where good. Right now the coarse itself is pretty good but the greens are terrible. The greens look all black and dead. They are slow for river island/island point. You better bring a snack and a few drinks because there won't be any available at the turn. This place really could be one of the best around. I'm not a greens keeper or a superintendent so I can't say what the problem is. I can only state the odvious. Right now it is not worth the fee being charged to play.

The course was in good shape and the greens were very quick. The course was packed ( but it was Memorial day). A very scenic course with water all around. I've played here before and I will play here again.

Greens haveva great pace but very bumoy. The greens need rolling.

Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The pace of play was also good the course was in great shape and the greens were amazing! I would like to see a little more up keep as far as the on course amenities other than that job well done!

Try to play every few years when passing through the area. Another nice experience guy in pro shop was very informative, some of the maintenance guys stopped and said hi, and asked how things was going. Course in nice shape, greens are very fast. Always love all the river views. Only negative looks like they are letting some of the bunkers go, but I can understand with the cost for upkeep. All in all a very nice day.

They should be more prepared for coronavirus issues. They stacked their tee times too close together. Result: our 11:30 group teed off at 12:55. We had to wait for carts to turn. They only have 52 carts. Either buy more carts, or space out your tee times. Course is in pretty good shape. I've always loved the layout.

I’ve played this course multiple times and the staff has been awesome and timely. I played the course today and on top of waiting 45 minutes to tee off, the starter was extremely rude and made racist remarks. I would usually recommend this place but because of that guy I won’t be back.

This is probably the best public course in the Knoxville area just based off the course itself. It’s hard, but an absolute blast to play. We teed off about 40 minutes after our tee time because they were out of carts (understandable during coronavirus), but the starter was extremely rude about it. To the point where multiple groups behind us complained. Not reflective of the whole staff or other times been there.

Lots of muddy spots in the fairway and super sandy greens.
