Island Pointe Golf Club

Tee boxes to greens are really coming in nicely. Will definitely be back.

I love this golf course. It is set 3 miles from the I-40 on the Southeast side of Knoxville. Take the Midway Rd exit and follow the signs. Zoysia grass fairways make the ball sit up beautifully and the champions Bermuda greens are very nice. Set on the banks of the French Broad river, the wildlife and views are so peaceful and serene. I call it my serenity’ golf course. That doesn’t mean it won’t challenge golfers of all skill levels. Two par 3s play all carry across the river. Hole #3 is the one everyone talks about. If your shot is short, pulled left, pushed right or hit long you are probably in the river (just saying). Staff is friendly and helpful. The driving range is so-so, practice greens are on a slope except the one by # 1 tee. Pace of play is usually good if you are a foursome. The price is very reasonable, especially if you book on Golf Now.

In former years, you can see it was a gorgeous facility. The natural terrain and friendly (but very limited staff) is all that keeps this afloat.

Open the snack shack back up. Other than that keep doing a great job maintaining the course.

Hidden gem! Conditions will be fluid depending on recent weather, but usually place is in exceptional condition. Low lack of funding doesn’t give it elite fee, but everything else about the course has potential to be elite. Challenging architecture with nuanced details about each hole make it a tough challenge. Greens have struggled in last but recent management changes have this course on the up-tick! Looking forward to warmer weather and seeing what this place is going to look like come spring and early summer!

I golfed this course in Feb so that is why my rating may be a little low, but the courses condition was as good as it could get for that time of the year. There wasn’t a concession cart while we were there so if you want drinks bring them with you because you don’t come back to the clubhouse at the turn.

This course is one of my top five favorites in Knoxville. The layout is scenic and interesting, and usually in good condition.

Great layout will be back to play it when it’s green

This coarse is awesome. I love the layout. We saw 2 bald eagles flying above the river! My only complaint is the club house attendant was late again. This is the second time this has happened. 3 groups of players waiting for the clubhouse to open on a Saturday at 8:45am. Finished the round around 1:45-2pm and the clubhouse is closed. Kinda frustrating but we will be back for sure.

First five holes are all we can handle ....after that we seem to score very well and enjoy the different terrain.

I have never seen a layout like this. You must play if your near Knoxville or Sevierville.

Can’t say enough good things about this course First the people they are absolutely first class The course is a post card picture Every hole is different It will give you all you want If you hit it long play the tips or if Father Time has shown up play the Senior Box The scenery is spectacular so enjoy this along with the golf It’s one the very best courses in this area and a place I never get tired of playing

We had another great day. We had a 9:15am tee time and the club house attendant didn't arrive until 10am. We got started one hour late. The coarse is doing great for the time of year. True and fast greens. Never a bad lie in the fairway. Bunkers need sand but they are manageable. Miss the fairway, green, or get above the hole and you will pay. Hit fairways and greens and you can make birdies.

Course conditions were good considering it was Dec in Tennessee. The greens were extremely fast and the pins were placed in difficult positions, but that made the course interesting. My only negative was the extreme slow pace of play of the groups ahead of us-it took us 4 1/2 hours to play 18! Very nice staff.

Our group has been playing alot of golf here lately and we have enjoyed every round. The coarse is in good shape for the time if year. The bunkers need some sand but that's really the only problem we see. I do understand that this coarse could be a hard place to maintain due to the layout. Over all I am very pleased. The gentleman/starter at the first tee is hilarious!

One of my favorite places to play. Greens are great. Fairways are great. Bunkers are pretty bad right now. I enjoy the round everytime I play here

I love this coarse. The views are awesome. You need to keep in mind this is a links style coarse. The tee shots can be tight and missed fair ways will lead to lay ups. The zoisa fairways will give perfect lies. The rough is not too bad. The bunkers could use some sand. The grass is long around the bunkers and the lips are steep, but it is a links style coarse. The greens are unlike anything I have played. They are soft yet extremely fast and undulating. If you hit the green above the hole you will be in trouble. This coarse is long and challenging but not unfair. Island Pointe is really a great round of golf. Pace of play is about 4.5 hours for a foursome playing ready golf.

I love playing this challenging yet fair course.
