Fun Course
Play was slower then normal the challenge of the course made it
Worth the extra wait... Excellent text for the low and medium handicap player...
Challenging course, with some needed attention.
Nice course, with fairways and greens in great shape. The reason for it's "requiring maintenance" and "average" rating is the condition of the bunkers and areas around the fairways. The bunkers appeared as if they had not been raked in quite some time. They were hard, overwatered, and most were smooth with no recent rake marks at all. Also, some of the area around the fairways are overgrown with weeds. I understand that rough is rough, but for the appearance of the course, having areas of thick milkweeds and overgrowth is unattractive.
Nice shape. Great greens and nice variety of tee boxes
Course was in great shape. Greens were true. Tee boxes nice and flat
Nice course, well maintained. Need the mobile service cart.
I like! the course is well maintained and fairway is fair.
Only the green divots are not fixed by golfers!
Well keep course
I am really pleased with the playing conditions at this course.
Poorly maintained grounds
I played here five years ago and the grounds were pristine. Well needless to say its far from that now. On a one to ten scale ten being the best the grounds are a dismall 2 but the course itself is in descent shape. I will not go back they are obviously trying to save money buy neglecting the rough
Great Greens, Fast pace, Check-in staff not very accommodating
Check in Staff acts like your bothering him. Won't check you in untill all the players are present, which makes you stand in line and reduces your pratice time. Didn't make you feel welcome that I chose to spend my money with them. Too many other choices to have to tolerate an attitude. Course is in pretty good shape, Fairways need some attention. Greens were smooth and fast.
Tough course - rewards accuracy over distance. Very unforgiving rough and O/B.
This course has very different personalities from between the whites and the tips. If you are a mid-handicapper like me, the whites are a good time. Challenging, but not unforgiving. I played from the tips 3 weeks ago and got punished - very hard to place a tee shot on the fairway unless you are ver long and very accurate.
Course conditions were good both times I played recently. Staff was helpful and pace of play was decent. Par 3 17th is wicked tough - don't let the lack of water fool you!
Great course
Great course, T-time @10:56 . We arrived at 10:30 and the starter allow us to get on as soon as we are ready. Course is in O.K condition, but the green is slow.
Beware the first hole
The first hole gives an unfortunate impression of a very difficult course as it is a blind dog leg with a narrow fairway. I would recommend taming the rough to give a better first impression. The back nine fairways are very nice.
Great Course Fast Play
Played during the week mid afternoon. Checked in jumped on a cart and we were playing. No wait time at none of the 18 holes. Course nicely maintained. Played the following weekend and wait time was not that bad!
A good course to challenge you
You've gotta think your way around this course, driver isn't used on most holes, greens and fairways were in great shape,
Love the course
This course is allways in really good shape I played there many times never a bad day unless there is a slow 5 some ahead of you. Everyone knows how that is but the Marshalls try to take care of that problem.all the staff is really helpful from the pro shop to cart guys to the reasturant and the marshalls,They keep it in really good shape.TIP dont use a driver on the 9th or hit it right center theres a lake on the left that is reachable Trust me.
Underwhelmed.
So played on Memorial Day 2013.
Got to the course 45 min early. I checked in with the starter and he immediately told me they were 30 mins behind. Then they couldn't find my tee time. Good thing I had confirmation email. Anyhow they had a tournament that was a reverse shotgun which was why the tee was behind. First group after the tournament is a threesome and the starter calls them to the tee. I wait to hear my name and then the on deck group is called. Went over to the starter in the pro shop who was making the announcement and reminded them I was a single. They liked my idea and Paired me up and i played with three guys.
I had played here before and I can say that is has drastically gone down hill. Last time here was in 2009 and it was immaculate then. They have let the fairways go and the bunkers have rocks and weeds in them. Greens used to be super smooth and fast. Now they are overwatered slow and shaggy.
The layout is challenging with tons of blind shots. The yardage book in the pro shop is a waste of $5. Never saw a Marshall or the beverage cart... Which was frustrating because it was slow pace of play wise.
I had fun playing but that was more because of the guys I got paired up with who where quite funny. But that's golf if you really think about it....
Overall it's worth $60 on a holiday at 1030. I will probably play here again.
This course is in great condition and a pleasure to play.
Got out earlier than scheduled tee time. Starter was very friendly and helpful. Course is a challenge, and in great condition. I will encorage my friends to play this course. I will book this course again.
Great Course!
I was a bit cautious on booking a tee time for $60 in the Inland Empire, but what a course this is! It's in great shape with green green green fairways and tee boxes in great shape. The course keeps you guessing on every hole. Water damages makes playing more exciting. Definitely will be playing here for the price!
Its gotten a lot better
The first time I played Empire Lakes was in 2007, back then the course was in immaculate condition. Not living in California at the time only got the chance to play once a year, and over the years I noticed the condition of the course worsen. In 2012 I moved to California, and the first course I played was Empire Lakes, to say the least I was not impressed; I stayed away for almost a full year. This past week I had the opportunity to play Empire Lakes on one of their discounted rates, so with a bit of apprehension I did. I can say this course has come a long way in the past 12 months, the fairways a beautiful and the greens are above average. I enjoyed it so much so on Thursday that I went back and played again on Friday evening... Empire Lakes still has some work to do as the Tee Boxes are a bit beat up and have some uneven parts and some of the areas or rough could be better maintained ( I know its "rough" but if you play the course you will see what I am talking about). I will put Empire Lakes back in my course rotation and stop referring to it as a cow pasture. Job well done Empire Lakes, I will be back.
Toughest course
Toughest course I've ever played. If you're not at pro level (and I'm not) this course will chew you up and throw you up!!! I will try going back for seconds having played it should at least give me a shot at redemption???
The course proved to be a good challenge
We enjoyed the course and the individuals we played with we very nice and helped us understand the layout of the course which made it all that more enjoyable. We'll definitely play it again soon.
Definitely PGA status
I rank it as a top 5 in So. Cal hands down!!!! It's a great challenge but at the same it's enjoyable it's addicting!!!! I was on my "A" game and still shot 81 and I'm a 6 handicap!!!!
course was good, starter is cool, no cart lady and the buzzer system did not work, greens are slow, great rough, no bar, nice fairways, cart #39 has a bad battery, the snack bar person is mean and rude, I give a 4.3 / 5
