Great challenge!
Loved this course. If I were a local I would frequent it weekly! Great sloping fairways, wonderful greens. A lot of the holes require accuracy off the tee and if you miss left or right then you will find a lot of trouble. I really liked also that it forced me to use my three wood a lot off the tee instead of just hitting the driver all day. The par 3's were also great challenge with two of them 200 yd plus. Greens were in great shape and rolled very nice.
Needs some work
Quite a few areas with patches of dirt instead of grass. Some bunkers are void of sand, some have so many rocks in them that they damage your wedge hitting out of them. Course maintenance is lacking. Used to be a pristine course - not anymore.
Course in good shape
Greens need to be rolled and the carts need attention. Carts are in poor shape and need to be maintence. Cart kept cutting out batteries bad
Great fun, green fairways, perfect greens ... what more can you have
perfect fun, does get windy but is a very nice course.
Fun course to play.
We played mid morning and the course was open. We did not have to wait on any hole and no golfers had to wait on us.
Well Maintaned
Course was well maintained and enjoyable to play. Still some remnents of the green aeration but not too bad. For a Sunday, the pace of play was acceptable.
Good variation of holes to present a good challenge.
FUN CHALLENGING COURSE.
GOOD COURSE, PLAYS TO A FADE. UNFORTUNATELY, LAWNMOWER LEFT CUTS IN GREENS.
Nice value in afternoon
I enjoyed the course when I played it in early spring. The greens were in good shape at this time, but they can get a little tight and thin in the heat of summer. We played the white tees because we are over 10 handicaps, and it is definitely playable for moderate hitters who lack that overpowering drive. The water comes into play from the blue and black tees, but not too much from the shorter tees. It's a beautiful layout, but the dry creek bed that winds through the property is hard to play out of. It is a good value in the afternoons, and you have plenty of time to finish 18 if you get out before 3:00. The guys in the shop were friendly, and there are some good food values at the turn (dog and chips for a fiver). Overall, I'd like to take another crack at this nice venue, as there are quite a few holes where ball placement is crucial. Having run through it already, I think I can shave at least 4-5 strokes from my previous score. I'd rank it a solid 8+ for the combo of value, speed (fast!), friendliness, and course conditions. Give it shot one afternoon, you won't be disappointed! Kev in Glendora
Loved it!
Friendly staff, awesome practice range, fast and smooth greens, and 4 hours to play 18 holes on a Sunday morning!
Love this golf course!
Course was in beautiful condition for so early in the Spring. My only complaint is that several areas of the course have goose droppings all over the place,,, gets on your ball, clubs, shoes, etc. Pretty gross but not sure what the course can do about it.
The twilight was a great deal... Teed off at about 2:50 and was done by 6:30 which is a pretty good pace for late afternoon on a beautiful spring Friday.
Good course, but slow play hurts appeal.
Good course designed by Arnold Palmer. Has many teeing options allowing for all levels of golfer. Greens were in good shape. The pace of play was slow. We teed off before 10:30 and finished after 3:00.
Couse layout is challenging and open
Course was in fair condition with clumpy grass in most of the fairways and mixed grass types. Green were in decent shape. Be prepared for bird droppings on and around many of the greens/water areas. Overall, for the money, maintenance of the course was less than excellent.
very challenging course !
this has the making of a good course ! But its not kept up ! The putting green to warm up was burnt up with duck stool all over it ! The fairways were in decent shape, decent ! Thats it ! THe Greens were awful ! Looks run down ! My friend has said he went before and it was really nice about a year ago , but thats not what i seen ! Then the guy at the counter forgot to get our cart and we went out almost 10 minutes later then our tee time when we were 30 minutes early ! Not what i had expected from a course with this reputation !
Nice greens
Greens are always in great shape. Fairway slopes will get you if you don't know the course.
They have let this course go...
Look, I understand that it's Southern Cal in the wintertime. But I was highly disappointed at the condition of the golf course. The fairways were in horrible shape. You were punished for hitting the ball in the fairway because the ball would end up on a dirt patch or thread bare fairway. The greens were in decent shape though they were rolling inconsistently. One green would be really fast and then the next two slow. I've played this course 2-3 other times and up to this point had always enjoyed playing it. I can't say the same now. I was highly disappointed. As far as pace of play, starter lets a 5-some out, especially during the middle of the day? That group backed everybody up. It was a miserable experience.
Slow play, bad conditions.
This course could be one of the best if not for slow play and bad course conditions. A pretty good layout with some challenging holes and nice scenery. However, a 5 plus hour weekday round is not acceptable. Fairways were spotty with grass and the rough was no better. Not sure if they ever do any maintenance here. I won't be returning here any time soon.
Recommendable for those who like a fun challenge
Absolutely recommend this course. Very well maintained, just enough water and sand to make the game challenging yet still exciting. A must for those that have not yet played!
Just one key thing, if you go on a holiday go early or join the long line of enthusiast
Bird droppings all over the course
I played about a year ago and I was very dissastified with all the weird bird/duck droppings all over the greens and in the field.
However, the same bird/duck droppings were still all over the place...
I don't know what the staff can do abut them but it was definitevely a huge turn off and disgusting to see my golf ball roll over fresh droppings all over the place.
The course is not difficult but course management is essential. If you're not familiar with the course you will lose many balls in the deep rough (knee high) or be in the hazards in a heartbeat.
This course will be my last choice to play in the area....
Not worth the money....
Course needs to be maintained.
Not a great place to play during the weekend. Played only 9 holes (3 & 1/2 hours) couldn't get out of there fast enough!
