Great view! Photo submitted by DerekD760 on 10/15/2012
This is a really cool course, challenging but fun. The greens need attention.
Awesome course, has a PGA feel to it. Too many players playing from the back tees and then searching for the missed hit ball. I played two days in a row and the first day took five hours and the second day took 3 1/2 hours. The back tees are too long for most players and this causes slow play. Tee it forward and keep the pace play for good, fun and timely round.
Greens are in very bad condition.
This course used to be so good!! Greens we're nice! What happened?? :( not coming back until this gets fixed!!
Neglected beauty
I was disappointed with the overall course condition comparing to the first time I played this course about five years ago. The bunkers are bare and wet with hardly any sand. The greens are patchy and fairways have lots of bare spots. The snack bar chairs/tables are dated.
This Course Has Nice Fairways and the lakes are clean
Empire Lakes is a very challenging course. The PGA used to play there when Nationwide was sponsoring the tournaments. It has nice lakes and it was a lot of fun! Hope you visit them soon!
Needs work!
Greens in very poor condition ,fairways need help.
challangeable, because of lakes
enjoy playing with really low price and
layout and circumstance are so beautiful.
course condition
Greens were in poor condition, especially #3 green.
the staff that I came into contact with did not treat me as a welcome guest.
after only a couple of holes, I injured my back. The kid at the counter told me that there were no rainchecks given by the course, even though I only played two holes. I was offered no assistance with my clubs to get me back to my car, even though it was obvious I was having trouble walking on my own. Two workers from the course the rode by me in golf carts as I hobble to my car, not offering me any assistance. I will be back because I like the course, but the service was deplorable.
Great track.
As long as the strong winds do not blow, this is one of the best courses you can play. If you hit reasonably good shots and putt decently, you will find the course very playable, but watch out if you are off your game; it will make you pay for mistakes. I love the layout, the way the ball sits up nice in the fairways, and the great views of the nearby mountains.
The day we played there was almost nobody on the course. What a relief from the overcrowded courses we sometimes have to play! I don't know if it's the people who play here or the maintenance staff, but the course is well cared for. Every divot was sanded, and the ball marks had been fixed. I wish all courses were this clean!
This course layout is challenging w/ all the little lakes in just the right places.
I love the layout. The course is unique in design to the area. A lot of water in the correct places makes some holes a big challenge. The last par 3 on the front side is no joke. Making a bogey feels good. Several blind shots really keep your attention throughout the round. If you like driving the ball over water as a challenge, you will get several holes that force you to do just that.
The course is losing some of the greens to disease!
The course was basically in great shape. It is unfortunate that the pros don't play there any longer. I am sure if there was still a pro event at that course it would be maintained much better. I feel pitty for the hacker because if you stray off the course you most likely won't find your ball or any other ball for that matter.
Fun track, in good shape, great opportunity to score well.
Had a fun round here, shot my best score of the year. They have the best breakfast sandwiches and bloody Mary's at the turn I have ever had. Only gripe would be a lack of markers on the course- if I didn't have my range finder I would have been in some trouble.
course is in great shape
great course all around kept up very well greens are always rolling nice it has many challenges a few long par 3s and pars fours on the back nine can be challenging If you don't hit it a long way has a great view of the mountains and the water hazards are always coming into play make sure you play late morning or else twilight times can be drag on the weekends
Fun course to play
Looks better than the first time I played here several months ago. Not a hard course, but somewhat challenging. Long par 3s and par 5s with plenty of water hazards to avoid. My friends and I enjoyed a lot.
Good Couse Good Value
I have played this course plenty of times in the past but its been several years since playing it last. Empire Lakes is not what it used to be but is still fun and a good challenge. The fairways and greens are in good shape. In some areas the rough is either overgrown or the rough is completely gone and now dirt. The course plays a little harder in the afternoon with a strong breeze. The trees have matured resulting in more narrow tee shots and entry shots and less forgiving if you miss the fairway. Course layout is one of my favorites despite the lack of maintenance. Hole 7 and hole 17 are two of the most challenging par 3's around. Hole 11 is also a very difficult par 5 for most anyone who doesn't hit it 300+ and straight off the tee. Great risk reward par 5 finishing hole!
Great course that is both challenging and playable. The greens are tough to read but the speed on them is fine.
Course has great views of the mountains and there is enough water on the course to add a challenging aspect to the relatively short course. The fairways are narrower compared to most courses, but fair and playable. The abundant waste areas can become punishing if you miss hit any shots, especially off the tees.
clear and to the point
Ruff was reasonable.
Fairways gave great bounce and roll.
greens rolled well.
pin placement challenged putting stroke.
Great Reason to Visit Rancho Cucamonga!!!
This course is a good challenge as it use to be a stop on the Nationwide Tour. With newly added water on 16, it makes coming home that much tougher. Greens are in better condition as of late however, they are a bit soft.
money well spent
This course can be a lot of fun just look at the scorecard and commit to a set of tees. Greens are really well kept and can sometimes run pretty fast. Carts could be a little better but still OK. Practice facility is also really good only downside is mats only on Monday and Tuesday.
