Cimarron's Boulder course is desert in location, but almost links in feel. It's hard to imagine even the most beer-cart-fueled hacker thinking they're in Scotland. Considering the bright sun, the striking San Jacinto Mountains and all. But …
"We've had many golfers tell us it reminds them of the British Open," head pro Jason Janke said. "For what we have in the desert, this is probably the closest course to that."
At 6,782 yards from the back tees, Cimarron challenges with length and accuracy. It's wise to keep your ball in the fairway here or you'll get some up-close desert views. Still with three par 4s over 450 yards and two par 5s over 560 yards, bombing away with your driver is anything but completely ignored.

Boring layout
The course is over priced. Wide fairways that simple go back and forth . There are many more interesting courses to play than this one in Palm Springs.. The course is good for beginners.

Fun Course
Price has gone up about 50% since we played here a yeaar ago, but that seems to be a trend down here in the desert. Pace of play was excellent - a bit over 3.5 hours. This is a fairly easy course (at least from the middle tees) but it's fun. Coditions were generally very good, especially the greens.

Simmerin .. No On Course Restrooms
Enjoyed our round, but the fact that there are no real restrooms on the course, except for two porta-potties is a disgrace.

NICE COURSE
I ENJOYED THE COURSE. THEY SAY TO TAKE FREE RELIEF FROM THE WASH AREA THAT IS ON THE SIDE OF MANY OF THE HOLES. I PLAYED IT AS A NORMAL LATERAL HAZARD AND TOOK A PENALTY DROP. IF YOU PLAY THE WASH AS A WATER HAZARD THE COURSE BECOMES MUCH MUCH MORE DIFFICULT. THE GREENS WERE GOOD AND HAD BEEN SANDED AND VERTICUT PROBABLY 12 OR SO DAYS BEFORE I PLAYED THERE. STAFF AND OTHER GOLFERS WERE VERY FRIENDLY. I WOULD CERTAINLY PLAY IT AGAIN. TRAPS NEED ATTENTION AND WERE VERY HARD. MY GUESS IS THE WIND REALLY TAKES A TOLL ON THE SAND TRAPS.
Cimaaron Boulder never disappoints
Fairways always excellent. Greens rolled very nice. No trees and not a beauty but it offers 18 holes of good golf holes.

Course is very good value
The staff are fantastic. Especially after I left my range finder. I was able to come back the next day and retrieve it. One complaint is the traps hadn't been raked and felt like you were playing of rocks.

Just Average
If your looking for easy course that is always in fair to good condition, this would be your choice. However it's still a little pricey for what you get. Nothing fancy just average.
