About
Cimarron's Boulder course is desert in location, but almost links in feel. It's hard to imagine even the most beer-cart-fueled hacker thinking they're in Scotland. Considering the bright sun, the striking San Jacinto Mountains and all. But …
"We've had many golfers tell us it reminds them of the British Open," head pro Jason Janke said. "For what we have in the desert, this is probably the closest course to that."
At 6,782 yards from the back tees, Cimarron challenges with length and accuracy. It's wise to keep your ball in the fairway here or you'll get some up-close desert views. Still with three par 4s over 450 yards and two par 5s over 560 yards, bombing away with your driver is anything but completely ignored.

Stunning but slow pace
Stunning course, course in beautiful shape and views incredible. But pace was slow.
Beautiful course!
Pace of play was slow but it was not quite in-season so I imagine not many other courses were open. Very well-maintained course, tough greens, absolutely breathtaking views from every hole! I didn’t get any birdies but I don’t think I can blame that on the course…. All in all I would definitely play here again and highly recommend!

Nice Course
The course is very forgiving with pretty mountain views. Fairways and greens in excellent condition. I’m not used to paying for range balls at a nice course but everything else was great.

Course was in great shape, but could not adjust to the slowness of the greens. Teed off at 7:44 with very little waiting. Finished around 11:30 and the first tee was overrun with groups waiting to tee off. GOLF EARLY! Could have played for $16 cheaper if I had booked thru the course. Check your prices before booking.

It was a fun day. The course was in good shape but the greens were slow and didn’t look great this early in the season

Vacation golf
Friendly staff and clubhouse was nice. Course was backed up due to reopening after reseeding and new starter so we started 30 min late. Got paired up with two nice guys and had a fun round. Fairways were in great shape and greens were just a bit slow but rolled true. Carts were allowed on course which wad appreciated. Good scores are attainable. Had a great round. Will definitely play next time we are in Palm Desert.

Good value, nice round
The staff was great, helping get us out earlier than planned. We arrived early, asking to get out much sooner and the starter was great, getting us out on the course immediately. The course was in very good condition, as it just opened two days ago. With next to no cement cart paths, it was great not having that cart path restriction.
The typical public course where customers don’t know why there is a rake in a bunker, but overall, a good time. We ate in the restaurant afterwards and the food was good, priced fairly.
I will return again

Course just recently reopened after seeding.
Very lush and Green.
Greens looked great but were extremely slow. A couple more cuts and they should be great.

Slow pace
Course is in great shape after overseed, but pace of play was very slow seemed like tee off times where not adequately spaced.

First day open
We played on the first open day after oversees. Great condition. Greens were slow, but rolled as they were read.

Slow round
The pace of play was extremely slow, our tee time was 13:12 and we didn't finish until 18:20, in almost dark conditions.
There were no carts available until just before tee time, so difficult to get to the practice facilities before play.
We were not informed that we did not return to the clubhouse halfway, but at least they had water stations in place on the course.
Clubhouse lunch was good.

No Secret
It’s no secret that Cimerron is a friendly, easily accessible, and well maintained two course golf club that offers some of, if not the the most affordable green fees near Palm Springs. Locals and Visitors alike will want to return. I do.

Dry
They were obviously drying the course out in preparation for overseeding. It was great getting run-outs in the fairways but the greens didn’t hold. Club down one on your approach shots. Still in decent shape though and I wouldn’t hesitate to play here again.
