Could be better
The fairways were good but the greens were atrocious. They looked like they were just punched but also look like they been in bad shape for awhile now. I ended up shooting my PB of 83 Which is crazy to think about how bad the greens were. Overall the course is ok but for 72 bucks that’s really steep.
Poor Kept Course with homeless encampments
this was one of the worst courses I have played at in years. Burned / damaged greens making putting nearly impossible. Homeless encampments spread thoughout the OB of the fairways. Course looks nothing like it’s photos, this was a huge letdown. This course should pay YOU to play there. Horrendous!! I would not recommend this course to my worst enemy. STAY AWAY
What a Joke
6 hour round. Staff was beyond rude. Possibly also on drugs. Homeless people live on this course: yes, hard to believe. But true. Worst conditions I’ve ever seen. Called ahead and asked if the greens were punched they said no. Showed up, greens were punched and completely unplayable. 0/10 absolutely horrible please stay away from the joke of a “course”.
Tahquitz
Enjoyed the round this week. Liked the layout of the course. Course was recently aerated but was healing up pretty well. My play wasn’t stellar, but looking forward to next round here.
Playing golf through a homeless encampment
I have played Tahquitz a number of times in the past ... but not within the past 10 years. A lot has changed since then. It used to be that if you hit into the wash area you needed to be careful of snakes. Not anymore. It's the dozens upon dozens of homeless encampments that are scattered throughout the "Resort" course.
Very sad indicator of the state of society in California ...
On second thought
Really looked forward to this round. However the course was in really bad shape, and the homeless feces on the tee box was the last straw for me! Not gonna lie, playing amongst all the homeless trash and tents was not the experience I was looking for. No drinking water on the course. It played like a muni in disrepair. Not really sure I would return.
Punched Greens
They just punched the greens a few days ago. I would wait at least another two weeks before playing here again. Lots of homeless living along the first few holes. Rude maintenance personnel kept rolling the green on 16 and wouldn't let me play. I literally waited 5 minutes for him to finish. Then he held a conversation with his coworker while I was chipping then clanged around working on his equipment while I was putting. Other staff were great. I like that every hole is different. I'll probably play here again this summer but I'm going to make sure the greens haven't been punched before I book it.
Good place to play golf
This is a good place to play golf. I like this course.
Very Nice Public Resort Course
Overall the greens, fairways, tees and bunkers were in bery good condition. The course is challenging off the tee because target areas appear to be tighter than they actually are from the tee. Great place to play.
Homeless
The first 4 holes I was encountering homeless people each hole and people on bikes riding around on the cart paths.
2 of the homeless were lying down in the creek made from the run off.
Felt a little nervous the whole time.
Slightly above average course
Have played this course plenty of times, but this was the first time playing here in over a year. Course is still in good shape, tee boxes were a little beat up on some holes, like others have mentioned once you get to #3 you start to see the homeless set up in the native area. No one bothered our group, but they are within sight, and they also randomly walk the course. Did not see a Marshall once, but pace of play was average. Cart girl was very nice and made her rounds quickly. Will play again.
Love it!
We had a great time, not sure why they let singles go as we’d let them play through each time adding minutes to our round. That’s my only complaint though. Love this !
No bathrooms
I really like the Resort course but I cant play there anymore. Twice I needed the bathroom on the course and twice I had to race to the clubhouse. I thought it was just a mistake the first time. If the reason for locking the bathrooms is because of homeless people then there should have been a key to open it somewhere in the cart. I was never told of a key. Very disappointing and completely disruptive.
