Mountain View at Desert Willow Golf Resort

Conditions were very good, especially for the middle of the summer. Fairways were green and lush and the greens were beautiful. We played at noon so the course was pretty much wide open. We passed a group midway through, but still played in a little over 3 hours.

Course was in amazing shape.. Greens rolled true and fairway was green, no dead grass anywhere. Staff tip tip like always. Foursome was done in 3:40 .

I have played Firecliff a few times, so playing Mountain View for the first time pales in comparison. The course itself was in excellent condition, greens were rolling nice, very fair. The Par 4s were average layouts, which got a bit monotonous for my liking. But overall, an enjoyable, easier layout than Firecliff.

I live in San Diego and I have been playing Desert Willow every summer for the last 25 years. I think the Firecliff and Mountain View courses have the best landscaping of any courses in the valley! They are always in real shape even in the middle of the summer. And on top of all of this, the management and staff have always been very accommodating and helpful. You just can't beat these two courses for public access courses

Good layout, you need to hit your shots in the correct place and keep your ball below the hole to make your putt,,

This is a fun course to play. And of course you expect it to be hot in July in the desert. But a month plus of 115° days has taken a toll on some places on the course. However the course played well the greens are in good shape just a few areas in the fairways that are marginal.

Good layout, needs a little bit of tlc 'n guess but otherwise fun

I really enjoyed playing this course. It was my first time, I had played the other course here a few years back. The course was well maintained and the greens rolled true. The yardage in the carts was as accurate as my laser device, nice touch.

The course is beautiful and in great shape. There were no groups in front or behind us. I’m an intermediate golfer and was teamed up with a group of much better golfers and felt rushed and uncomfortable from the time I arrived and didn’t play well. I don’t understand why the pro shop couldn’t have let me tee off a little later and have my own cart. There were few golfers on the course, so no reason for me to be required to fill a four some.

Enjoyable round with one of the locals! My wife and I had a great time on the course. The two gentlemen with us were awesome and understanding as my wife is new to the game. She did great, out drove the other guys a few times as well. The course is in better than good shape. There are a few areas of ground under repair in the fairways, but healing is going well. Greens had been recently micro punched and sanded, a little slow, but rolled smooth. We will be back for sure!

Rode the Purples (6507/71.2/128) on a GN Hot Deal mid day in 3.5H. Matched up with Zach and Brian, nice guys to play with. It was 117 when we were finishing, and it is supposed to be above 110 every day for the immediate future.

Course very playable but beginning to show signs of the recent heat wave. Fun layout with plenty of water and traps but they do not overwhelm you.

Tees were good with a few needing divot repair. Level and mostly lush.

Fairways mostly lush with a few thinner areas and firm.

Same for the rough. Mowed low, not very penal, mostly lush.

Traps were nicely maintained with good quality sand. Would just like to see more sand in them.

Greens were medium speed and firm. Beginning to get what I call middle of the summer Bermuda bumpy when the heat gets above 110 for a few days in a row.

Always exceptional customer service here. Quick, efficient check-in. Excellent all grass practice facility with complementary range balls. Nice GPS on the upgraded carts that have ports for electronics. Plenty of ice/water stations on the course every few holes. Drink cart around a few times early in the round. Recommended.
