The second of two Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry designs at Desert Willow resort in Cathedral City, Mountain View is a little shorter (6,913 yards) and boasts wider fairways than the Firecliff Course.
There are also half as many bunkers as at Firecliff. Which still means there are 98 here.
Still, water comes into play more on Mountain View. The course name is no misnomer either. Golfers actually do get great views of the Santa Rosa Mountains as they take on Hurdzan's desert landscaping. This is resort golf with real nature touches.

I think there was water 16 out of 18 holes!!
The course is loaded with water and traps. The course condition is amazing on both the fairway and greens. Nobody bother's you, they let you play your round and a couple extras if needed for sudden death. I highly recommend this course.

Driver was working well that day. I really enjoyed this well maintained fairways and greens.
A beautiful day at Desert Willow
The course was in great shape. We were able to finish playing in just under 4 hours. The service was excellent on and off the course.
Outstanding in every aspect
I was greeted warmly, my bag was taken and loaded on my cart for me while I checked in at the proshop, and I was then invited to use the complimentary practice facilities ahead of my tee time. Built in video touchscreen gps on the cart was very helpful, especially the hole overview with targets and hazards. Ice, water and comfort stations every three holes. Beverage cart came thru every few holes. Love the course layout. Very playable for all abilities, with enough challenge and variety to make you want to come back again and again. 5 stars, all around. Will be back, for sure.
Great desert course
This course was very well maintained as the fairways and greens were in great shape. There is beautiful desert landscaping throughout. Pace of play was excellent as we finished in about 3 hrs and 20 mins even as there was a slight wait on each hole on the back nine.
Awesome course, staff and value!
I've played over 35 courses in the last 2 years and I'd say this course is the best I've played for under $75. I only $64 for a GoflNow Hot Deal and I'd play it again even if it was $85! Tee boxes, fairways and roughs are in perfect condition. The greens are very good as well. They are a bit slow, but consistent and smooth. They are also in beautiful condition. One of the best deals I've had on GolfNow!
This course is beautiful!
Mountain View’ Course was a must stop and look around course. This course is well maintained and surrounded by natural beauty. All supporting facilities were excellent. We could not get enough so we will be playing again tomorrow.
Terrific Value!
Could not have been a better all around day. From the bag drop to the pro shop to the starter, cart girl, marshal and even the guy who cleaned our clubs at the end of the round.... well done.
Course in great shape... played Mountain and greens lightening fast!
