Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.
Hidden Hills has a rating of 74.0 from the championship tees, and the slope rating is 136.

Be prepared for unnecessary wait times
Paid $70 to play here, which for the cost compared to other locations gets you a very good course typically.
Course shop attendant was miserable but wasn’t too concerned with that. Got to our tee time and it was 10 minutes late. There were groups of 4 playing within 3 minutes of each other. Come to learn the owner felt like adding two additional rush groups in every time. Thanks owner. Took us 40 minutes to get through first two holes.
Lots of groups playing early, restaurant didn’t open until 11 and cart attendant was seen sparingly (understandably busy)
Course was in ok condition, but for the cost it was outrageous.
Getting better
Greens were punched several weeks ago but seem to be slow coming back. Compared to another course up the street, this course is a much better course and better deal. Will continue to play here as it appears they are actively working n their issues.

Punched Green
Course is in pretty good shape, but greens could have been sanded a little better.

Inexpensive but in rough shape
Including a cart the price was very good. But very little grass in fairways, none in rough and greens were airated previous week so could not put a line.

I’ve played municipal courses in better shape!!!
Sand traps were not sand traps, they are fill dirt traps!!
Fairway had not been mowed!!
Greens weren’t bad except for having been punched but with no notification that they had been!!
We boxes looked and felt like they had let dogs dig em up!!
Course was not worth $70 at all!!
Pro shop hot dog was cold and tasted like it was a day old and cost $5
Would not recommend!!

Love the layout and design. Greens we’re punched and fertilized, so putting was difficult. Will play again when greens grow back in.

This course was very disappointing
Great place to play (most of the time). Aeration work was being done and was not given a heads up beforehand. Would have been nice to have a heads up and to have given us a discount for this. Completely ruined the experience.

Busy Coure
1st time I played this course & I enjoyed myself. The course was busy esp. for the time I scheduled 1230. Definitely will play it again. Love the course setup. Don't see many golf course in FL with hills.

Bad condition
The course had punched the greens. The greens putted like bunkers. At checkin, nobody told us about the greens. Very poor customer.

Aerated greens, slow golf, and still $70
The course didn’t make any notice, nor did the app, of the aerified greens and it made for awful green conditions. Punched and then sand unevenly spread across different areas. Additionally there were foursomes breaking apart into twosomes making for a 18 hole experience that took almost 5 hours. Won’t be going back to Hidden Hills any time soon if at all.

tough day on the course
Price was high for course conditions. Big hole punch with little to no sand to fill it in. Very disappointed!
