The Crooked Cat Course is one of two 18-hole regulation courses at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge. The facility is also home to a nine-hole executive course. The Crooked Cat Course is a challenge with dramatic elevation changes and rolling fairways that are framed with mounding. The golf course has a links-style design with large, contoured greens and wide landing areas. Water hazards and several bunkers come into play throughout. There are also trees and native heather present on the course for a naturally beautiful atmosphere. Orange County National's Crooked Cat Course is favored among low handicappers due to its length and difficulty.

Three Types of Grass on the Greens

The greens were very bumpy because they have three types of grass on them. If you have that, at-least cut them all down to the same height so your putt has a chance to go in the hole. Our group also decided to “roll them” in the fairways because there were so many clumps of grass. Disappointed to pay over $150 and have conditions like this.

Disappointing

Nice course and facility, but not worth the money they are charging.

Had to pay for range balls, wouldn't expect that at a high end course.

Nice layout but the greens were terrible,

Very disappointing for what you pay!

Disappointing staff interactions, possible stolen equipment

Crooked Cat itself was a fun track. The positive comments from me end about there. I left a rangefinder magnetically attached to the frame of the cart, and forgot to grab it when I departed the course around 6:20 pm. I called around 7:15 once I had realized I didn’t have it, and was directed to the central call center, which was extremely un-helpful. They couldn’t direct me to anyone. This would become a theme.

I had to call the next morning, and still no help. I talked with someone at the entire resort, but still nobody in the pro shop. After playing telephone with people who couldn’t help me all day, I decided to drive in and check the lost in found. Here, I went to the pro shop, and was “Greeted” by Nick. When I told Nick of my whole situation, the brand, color, time I played, etc, I asked if we can look at the lost and found. About as smug as possible, he told me flat out no. Claimed that he’s seen this before, and he won’t let me take a look. I was baffled, he said I can check with cart staff, so I left the pro shop to go check. Cart staff also claimed to not have it, even though I told them exactly where it definitely was and at what times.

So, I went to the pro shop hoping for a little help, and was treated very poorly and even labeled as coming in trying to steal a rangefinder. Given how quickly I acted, I have a hard time believing it doesn’t belong to a staff member currently. Their behavior in my time here backs that up as well. If

you go here, good luck dealing with Nick, and do not misplace anything of value.

Vacation golf

Course was in decent shape for March but had some weeds on most greens that otherwise would have been in ok shape. Love the layout of the course and pace of play was just fine. Would come back for sure....just wish pricing was lower!

Frustratingly Slow Play and Poor Value for Money

This was my third time playing this course, and while I do enjoy it, the pace of play has been consistently slow. However, this was by far the worst experience—4 hours and 45 minutes for a two-ball is unacceptable. It’s clear they’re overbooking tee times, especially for four-balls, which completely disrupts the flow of the game. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning, as I don’t see the value for money at $150.

Crooked Cat renovation

Crooked Cat is a wonderful Track but in average condition. It's my recommendation that Crooked Cat transitions to a naturalist golf course with a Single line targeted irrigation system that can substantially shrink the irrigation footprint of the golf course. By transitioning to a naturalist style golf course, Crooked Cat will save the City water while simultaneously allowing the maintenance staff to MANICURE a smaller portion of the golf course and make Crooked Cat more competitive with similar golf courses in the Orlando area.

Crooked Cat

I’m handicap 3.0. I like challenge myself at nice difficult courses. Played first time at Crooked Cat and love it !!.

Great facility, great course!

Wide open, links style. Rolling fairways, some elevation makes it unique for Florida.love the greens, they are pretty fast with nice slopes!!

Lots of bunkers with soft white sand.

Pace of play really slow!! Need Marshall !!

But course is Top Notch !! PGA level. Cant wait to play it again. Locals told me to try Panthers Lake, the second course at Orange County National and expect even better more manicured course!!

Way too slow

I like the OCN courses a lot, but the co dictions this time were average and the pace of play was atrocious. On the greens were different patches of grass that would throw putts offline, and all the greens were pockmarked with unrepaired pitch marks. Maybe worse, were the collars. They had small, uneven tufts of unknown grass that would catch your putter in the backswing.

Finally, and most importantly, was the pacing. It took us 5.5 hours. There are rounds on tour played faster. We don’t see a martial all day. There would be times when we finished a hole and could see 3 groups stacked up on the next hole. Waiting for every shot makes the game suck. They need to have more control. Send a martial out and make a group skip a hole or catch up.

Unfriendly

We were 5 minutes over time and the ranger came during 5 holes to us to tell us if we not speed up we have to skip a hole.

We speeded up, only to find us waiting on every hole after the flight before us.

What a waste of time and money.

Worst attitude ever

A great day/

Crooked Cat was a very scenic course. Tha fairways were in good shape but the greens had been sanded the morning of our play, it would of been nice if someone would of told us this. Not much break on the greens, when reading a break it never broke probably because of the sand.
