Crooked Cat at Orange County National
About
The Crooked Cat Course is one of two 18-hole regulation courses at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge. The facility is also home to a nine-hole executive course. The Crooked Cat Course is a challenge with dramatic elevation changes and rolling fairways that are framed with mounding. The golf course has a links-style design with large, contoured greens and wide landing areas. Water hazards and several bunkers come into play throughout. There are also trees and native heather present on the course for a naturally beautiful atmosphere. Orange County National's Crooked Cat Course is favored among low handicappers due to its length and difficulty.

Golfer Reviews
Slow Play and Course Conditions
Course had many patchy spots in fairways and rough making it impossible to play the ball down. Starter wasn’t very friendly. No ranger keeping play moving.
Orange County
Orange County National is an amazing facility. Courses are spectacular and challenging. Conditions are top knotch and worth the money. Great driving range and friendly staff. This is a must play course.
91$ for a tournament playing in front of you. 5+ hours round in the Florida sun. Horrible experience
Played the course many of times and the pace of play has always been slow but this last time was horrendous. So bad that our 4th quit on the 3rd hole even after paying 100$ and his quote " I'm going to die in this heat before we finish the 5th hole." Come to find out there was a tournament playing in front of all the groups. I understand tournament playing is a slower game but they shouldn't have normal golfers follow right behind them. Love watching on the tee box behind 3 others groups while 4 guys line up 4 inch putts. Average hole was nearly 20 minutes. Central Florida has so many courses better than this one and at the price point and level they keep themselves up to this just disappoints every time. It's sad course the course is fun and challenging. I wouldn't try this course in the summer die. You may not make it when it's 100+ degrees outside.
Book it. You won’t regret it.
Great course. Great practice area. Friendly staff. Clubhouse grill is good. Really, only gripe is we only saw a beverage cart once, and that was when we were walking off the 17th green. Would have been nice to get a Gatorade/Powerade a few times over the course of the round. Dinged it an overall star for that, but wouldn’t keep me from going back though.
Crooked Cat
Green were extremely firm. Bounce off the back if you can’t bring it in high. 7 stimp matter. This is not an opinion this was given to us prior to the round. SEVEN (not a typo)
Shag carpet was faster. Bunkers were soft I. The middle and no sand near the tops. The rest of the course Amazing
Awesome layout
First time playing this track and was well worth it! Course in great shape, greens rolling smoothly and fairways were perfect. Staff was also welcoming with a great lunch to finish out the day.
SLOW BUT NICE
The course overall is nice but we teed off at about 10:20 and didn’t finish until 3:40. Over a 5 hour round on a Thursday morning is just unacceptable. Stay away if you like a good pace of play.
Lives up to its reputation
A beautiful layout in great condition. When I want to upgrade my course, I’ll come back to Crooked Cat
Could be so much better
The greens were just sanded when I played, which was a huge letdown, but not even the biggest concern tons of patchy grass around the greens. For such an expensive course you would expect better conditions.
Course is great
Course is in great shape right now, greens are still new so playing firm. Land your approaches 3-5 yards short of your number.
Only complaint is the starter and Mr Clean in the pro shop. Both take pride in trying to ruin your experience- especially Mr Clean. Really needs to learn customer service.
Great Condition
If you’re looking for a top-tier golf experience in Central Florida, Crooked Cat at Orange County National absolutely delivers. The course conditions were outstanding fairways were lush and well-manicured, greens rolled true and fast, and every detail felt dialed in from tee to green. You can tell there’s real pride in how the course is maintained.
