Camelback Golf Club - Padre Course
About
Arthur Hills designed the Padre Course at Camelback Golf Club to deliver a fun round that's tough to forget. Trees tower, landforms show subtly, and bunkers improve your golf skills. The par-72 golf course measures 6,903 yards, and has gained its renown by offering a design that requires strategy.
A round of golf on the Padre Course at the Camelback Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 446 yards from the black tees. Things get long on the fifth hole, a par 5 that comes in at 553 yards from the black tees, one of four 500-plus-yard holes. The 18th hole is one of these: It's 547 yards from the black tee to the post-round celebration.
After your round on the Padre Course at Camelback Golf Club, head to the Golf Grill, serving U.S. cuisine and a fancy Sunday brunch in the style of Southwestern country clubs. There's also a luxury lounge where you can spend winters on the patio by the fireplace.

Great course design
Arthur Hill got this design right. The course is right in front of you and you have to make good shots to score well. The course was in good condition and the greens rolled well. This is a country club style course with wall-to-wall grass. Trees can come into play. I played this for around $50 and it was well worth the price. I would play it again.
Great course for the amateur
Course was in great shape for summer conditions. Wide fairways for those errant drives. The bunkers and water came into play on a few holes but utilizing the gps prevented sandy and wet balls. Definitely will play again but only on the summer rates due to my fixed income.
Amazing for the price
For the price of $50, this course was amazing. This is of course of late September golf in Scottsdale, where the majority of prices are now low. The course is in pretty good condition considering it's coming off the summer. Good traditional layout, greens were a little slow, but all considering it was great.
Pleasently Surorised
Upon arriving at Camelback Golf Club, I found it to be located a little out of the way. I wondered, Why would anyone go out of their way to play here?
Then I found out. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They took my clubs to the cart, and directed me to the clubhouse.
After playing another course in the area, I wondered if maybe the courses were letting them go due to over seeding taking place in a couple of weeks.
Not Camelback. The course was in excellent shape.
The starter, after finding out this was my first time playing, gave me some inside tips on a few of the courses. Then he said to have fun.
The beverage cart came by several times during the round. The course marshal came by, and stopped to chat for a short time. Wanted to be sure I was having a good time.
After finishing, the attendants took care of my clubs.
As I left, I thought to myself, Why don't more people go out of their way to play this course. Well Done!!
Always a pleasure
Camelback never fails to satisfy. Of course, great practice facilities; amiable staff, cart service frequent and pleasant, and 2 courses that are both fair and challenging. The greens were lightening fast and true. which is good, Once over-seeding is completed in a couple weeks, Camelback will be pristine! I look forward to several more rounds on the Padre and Ambiente during the winter season.....thanks...grw
Perfect Day for Golf
I have played the Padre course now 4 different times. The course is not as penal as the Ambiente course as there is not nearly as much desert rough. It is well maintained and always in great shape. The few water holes are always a challenge. You need to hit your approach shot with precision in order to stay dry.
Well Managed Course
Have been playing this course for many years and it never disappoints! Always seems to be in great shape and plays very well. It can both challenge the seasoned player and be kind to the novice.
The rates here skyrocket in the winter and so for locals it becomes unaffordable but at the $50-60 price point right now get out and play this beautiful track!
GPS on cart and range balls included. Fabulous practice facilities too!
Nice Course pace of play was great. Great practice facility.
Early morning desert golf
First time playing course. It is a great course player friendly. Very good staff. If you are playing during summer months. Get the earliest tee time
Great Course!
I played Camelback Padre years ago, but am really glad I tried it again. The course was in good condition given the ongoing heat wave in Phoenix. I'm a pretty high handicapper, and while the course wasn't easy, it was forgiving. At other courses in the area, if you miss a fairway, at best you're looking for your ball among the cacti and at worst you're pulling out another ball. At Padre on many of the holes if you miss the fairway a bit you can usually still play your ball. The greens putted very well; they weren't slick but putts rolled true. The staff was outstanding, including in the pro shop, the starter, the folks who helped with the clubs and the young lady on the beverage cart. This was the fifth course I had played in five days, but I was going to play this one again on Friday I liked it so much. Unfortunately, I fell asleep before I made a tee time, and overslept on Friday. If I come back to Phoenix, I will definitely come back to this course.
Great Golf Course
Very friendly accommodating staff and the course is in excellent condition. The Padre course is one of my favorites. The Ambiante course is outstanding. More challenging than Padre. Both are fun and difficulty can be adjusted by the tees you play from. The restaurant is very nice for lunch after your game. Highly recommend
It's a decent course, not upper tier in Scottsdale , but fun. Problem was pace of play , it should not take 5 hrs to play a round of golf in 110 F. Too many other choices available
