Verrado Golf Club - Founders Course

The course is in absolutely amazing condition right now. Fairways are near perfect, the greens are beautiful and rolling true. Hats off to the superintendent, usually in AZ you gotta pay $175 to $250 a round for greens like these.

Second year I’ve played this course and it’s incredible. Great practice facility, smooth carts, fairways l, greens and overall grooming of the course is amazing. Plenty of tee’s to test all skill levels, please play the appropriate tee’s to your skill level. Greens rolled true and pure. It’s worth the drive from Scottsdale and rivals courses that charge 4 times as much. Can’t wait to play it again!

What a great place to play and a nice value....

the pace was a little slow, but the ranger was on top of it and let us know where the problem was and got things moving along.

Staff was excellent and everyone made sure we had a great time!

Very scenic and well kept golf course! Always in great condition! Generous fairways but do demand your attention! There can be some mean pin positions!

A beautiful course at a reasonable price. The greens were immaculate and fast today, and a couple of the pins were extremely challenging, but it added to the fun. You’d pay $200 for a course of this caliber in the city, so make the drive and enjoy. Be sure to sit on the patio and have a drink, too.

Great golf course in general. Pretty fair and with great views from the top of the hill looking back towards Phoenix. The only thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars is that there are some other courses in the area that feel similar, cost a similar amount and are more memorable. So if you are visiting from out of town, I’d say it’s not a must play. Also some of the locals can be a bit rude.

The course is extremely fun to play. Having some knowledge does help on a few holes, but for the most part there are no surprises. The location and beauty of the course are some of the best in Phoenix. The course doesn't play as long as some other courses over 7000 yards due to elevation changes on some holes, but there are a few very long par 4's and par 5's.

Most fairways are fairly wide and forgiving, but bunkers are strategically placed at times such that positioning off the tee is important.

The only reason the course didn't receive 5 stars is the lack of overseed in the rough. You will not be penalized at all for missing the fairway. While many other courses in the area overseed the rough this was a disappointment. Dormant bermuda just takes away from the enjoyment factor for such a great place.

We will return if we are ever in Phoenix as the views of this course are awesome. The holes are spaced so you do not feel crowded.

One last negative. Do not expect towels so bring your own. For the cost they should have towels. The ball washers and club washers on the carts are not adequate. They never work well...if at all.

Both courses (Founders and Victory) in Verrado are great. I personally think that the Founders Course is the better of the two courses. It is always in great shape. Fairways are immaculate and greens roll fast and true. Lies can be a little tight around the greens so a putter will work or bring your A game with the wedges. There are many tees or combinations of tees so play from the right ones for an enjoyable round.

We have played this course many times and the staff is first rate. You are welcomed from the moment you pull up to the bag drop until you are loaded in your car to leave. Would highly recommend this course to anyone.

I went into the pro shop to check in. Gave him my name but was unsure, within minutes, of my tee time. The pro repeated my inaccurate guess and seemed put out to look two lines further to find my name . I told him my phone was in the truck and it had all my details. He was too busy watching golf on TV to respond. I would have given the course a low customer service rating , but the restaurant bartender was fantastic and friendly!!!! The course needs to evaluate the place of first impressions!!

Can’t say enough about this course. One of the best around. Great views great greens and fairways. It is a tough course however, you better hit it straight.

I was amazed at the condition of the course compare to the ones we played this past week; staff was friendly and the trek through the desert was breath taking... A MUST TRY VENUE! Thanks again..
