Extremely loaded up

Course was very over booked! It’s extremely hilly and there are so many places that are cart path only it made it very hard for me to play. I have breathing issues and we just had to go ahead and quit before we completed the round. Very disappointed! Climbing virtual mountains on ground that was hard as a rock and totally dry in 90 degree heat was totally uncalled for in my opinion.

Perfect

I was looking for a course to play as a single last minute. I was able to find a mountain course that mentioned it had several elevation changes. The front nine was pretty normal but the back nine had lots of elevation changes. If you don’t like cart path only then it might be an issue. About half the holes are cart path only. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed the course.

Most Beautiful Course I’ve Played.

I won’t soon forget my experience here. From south Louisiana, and first time in the Smokies, I was blown away by the scenery and course design. Pace of play lends itself to being in the moment. In my opinion, 5 STARS, easily. I hope to be back sooner than later.

It’s like home

I’ve played there countless times while vacationing in Gatlinburg and the course is always in great condition. Pace of play is a bit slow for two reasons:

1. Many holes are cart path only which creates problems with club selection, plus many holes require a lot of walking as the cart must be parked a good distance from where your ball will be.

2. This is not a good course for the high handicapper who plays two or three times a year, yet people will pay the $65 green fees all the time to play there.

12th hole elevated tee is Amazing!

This course will challenge any golfer. The elevated tees and greens... (especially the 12th hole par 3 ) are why I chose to play this course. It was well worth the Greens Fee. The upkeep could be better on some holes. I highly recommend playing this course for the layout and par 3 12th hole. Great experience! Bring your camera to capture some of the Amazing views.

Nice course, but staff is not accommodating at all.

Some of the greens were nice but some were not. Pace of play was slow enough to let us play with 5 but they would not let us. We will not be back here. Also not kid friendly. They talk to you like your stupid.

Great Challenge-Long Day

The Gatlinburg course is in good shape right now. A few greens on the back 9 are starting to show some signs of the hot weather. This course has a lot of up and down, so if you just play once on vacation, enjoy the experience and have fun. The rating/slope don’t quite do justice to the difficulty. They do not have a driving range (it’s in the mtns, simply no room) but do have warm up nets and two great warm up greens. The clubhouse has plenty of standard food/drink options as well. The only bad thing I have to say is pace of play, it took us just over 5 hrs to finish our round as a foursome. They warned us it was busy, but wow. A 5-10 min wait on ever tee box! Had never had this happen here, just a really big summer crowd. I would suggest an early morning to avoid that and the heat! Overall this is one of my favorite courses because it really challenges my distances and truly requires you to hit every club in the bag multiple times!

Challenge of a Lifetime

We're from Fla where all the courses are flat. This is a rolly-polly course which you couldn't walk. Even cart to tee and cart to green was hilly. Expect achy legs the nest day. HOWEVER...it was beautiful and very challenging-- an experience we'll remember the rest of our lives !!

Good course as far as condition.. paid for 18 holes but only played 9 due to the pace of play (it took over 4 hours to play 9 holes).

Mountain Course

You need to be in good health to get around this course. Many holes are cart path only because it’d be too unsafe to drive a cart on the fairway. We are in good health and I couldn’t stop thinking about what others would do. Many blind shots as well. The course slope and rating should be redone.
