Great course. Slow play

Course is in great condition and great layout. However they stuck me (a single) behind a group of 8 and the ranger wouldn’t let me pass. Took over 2 hours for my first 9 holes.

Great Course Wxcept for the Greens

Overall this is a beautiful course. The pace of play was good and the staff was excellent. The greens were in pretty bad shape on about five of the holes. A few bare spots on those and all the greens still had the aeration pattern on them. Other than that, I would come back and play this course again. It did rain on us from about the 9th through the 15th holes and that was the biggest detractor, obviously not the courses fault.

STL Native Review

Wowie. If you lose a Titleist ProV IV, have no fear just look around you. The course speaks for itself. Mark in the pro shop was more than accommodating, the snack bar host was the nicest person, even though you couldn’t buy beer at noon on a Sunday, and the Marshall gave us a great introduction as to what to expect.

You are their for the views, not to nitpick a course that’s built into a mountain. Remember that and you will enjoy yourself as we did

Too Tricked Up

Course conditions were good with the exception of the 9th fairway (very sloppy and wet even though it had been several days since it had rained) and several greens on the backside where there is a lot of shade. Had to keep carts fully on path for 8 holes and for several others there were areas of the fairway where the cart was not allowed. Clearly, this is a very hilly course so you expect some of this, but the cart path restriction here was excessive. This is particularly frustrating as they advertise in cart gps which is basically useless on cart path only holes. Also, a number of the holes are tricked up (90 degree doglegs with short, narrow fairways that run out, so if you don't have local knowledge, you have a hard time picking a good club off of the tee. Finally, the forward tee on the last hole is nonsensical. A player from that tee is faced with a 75 yard tee shot to a plateau that steeply falls into a pond if too long only to lay up to a 130-150 yard carry across water to the green. The other tee boxes are fine, but the forward tee should be moved to the side of the pond and changed to a par three. The staff was friendly, but when we finished our round at about 6:30PM, the clubhouse was closed up tight with no staff anywhere to be found. Couldn't even access the restrooms!

Slowest play ever

Should never take 5 1/2 hrs to play a round of golf. Regardless of pleas to the golf course staff to speed up play, nothing was done.

Good variety

This was a pleasant surprise in the middle of Pigeon Forge. The elevation of some greens and tee boxes added to the difficulty. It was a beautiful course. We plan to go back in the future. (It was a very windy day!)

The mountains

This was the most challenging course I played. Play your shots wisely or the mountains will eat you up. I am definitely coming back.
