Course
Course was great staffs was great
A bit pricy with GPS
But all good
It's got character!
In the heart of Pigeon Forge, this track offers twists, turns, and drops. Although the scorecard shows a short course in comparison to most, GGC offers lots of slope. The signature hole, Par 3 number 12, offers well over 100 feet of drop from tee to green. The greens, tee boxes, and fairways are in excellent shape. This course is a must play while in the area. The only knock is no driving range and slow play. However, don't stress, your playing golf in vacation central.
Best course to Travel to
Even after an admitted hit summer and heavy play, the greens were in better shape than I expected. The rough is very tough, thick curling grass that swallows your club head as well as your ball. Excellent use of the terrain, sometimes forgiving, sometimes.... not. Elevation changes make great challenges, or some of your personal best drives. Make it a point to play the back 9, that is where the true beauty of the course is.
Fun course with lots of elevation changes
Ever hit a 195 yard nine iron? You can on the par 3 number 12. It plays straight downhill off a mountainside.
The front nine is a good layout and pretty forgiving, but the back nine is fairly tight and challenging.
Really fun course to play with lots of birdie opportunities. Wonderful condition too. I would definitely reccomend this course!
Gatlinburg GC
Great golf, great layout & awesome views
Great course
Beautiful views, only issue was the water fountains only worked on few holes. We were nearly dehydrated, no water coolers on course. Not good on a hot day! Other than that, great course and very challenging!
nice course but really slow play
nice course but expensive in my opinion, no ranger keeping the pace of play moving
Better Options in the Area
Being local I have played many courses in the area, I had never ventured out to this course and decided to do so over the weekend. Thankfully, I did not pay the full $60 greens fee for this course because it is not even close to worth it. It is not a terrible course, but there are easily 2 courses within a 15-30 minute drive from this one that are superior courses. I believe this course capitalizes on location and location alone. The condition of the tee boxes was less than desirable and there were more bare spots in the fairway and rough than you should expect at $60/round. The greens were quite slow and had some bad spots but I will give them a pass since the weather has been quite dry lately and I think they aerated about a month ago. Yes, the signature par 3 is a nice hole and there are some really nice views at times but other than that the layout is pretty wonky. Par 37 on the front 9 and 34 on the back with back to back par 5's twice. The front 9 was a more enjoyable layout IMO as the back 9 just seemed crowded with layups and doglegs everywhere. One other peeve was no cart girl until hole 9 and only a couple water sources on the whole course...at 95 degrees one would prefer to fill a water bottle more often. Pace of play was pitiful, almost 5.5 hours with no ranger or marshal seen...ever.
In the end, its a decent course and I could see $40 green fee in the morning on weekends, but I don't blame them for capitalizing on tourists. End game is I doubt I will return when there are much better options in the area. If you are coming to the area and want to play golf I would suggest you drive 15 minutes to Sevierville Golf Club, you will pay less and enjoy two courses (they have 36 holes) that are 5x nicer. If you want more golf and don't mind a 20-30 minute drive go check out River Islands Golf Course as it is also a nice course that can be played for less. Heck, if you are in Gatlinburg I would even suggest driving an hour over the mountain to Sequoyah National Golf Club
Spectacular!
This is the most spectacular, scenic, hilly, tree-lined course I've ever played! Surprisingly, it was not that difficult and not too long, although the senior tees do give you substantial advantages on par-5 holes. The greens were excellent; so were the fairways. The two guys I played 18 holes with were friendly and helped me search when I strayed into the trees on two occasions. My wife rode along with me and was impressed with the views. A very enjoyable round, and we only waited on the last hole.
Outstanding views
Many interesting hole layouts, great par 3's and incredible scenery and views!!
Very nice course.
Fun and scenic course. Greens had recently been aerated so not perfect but course volunteered that information & gave a $10 discount because of the aerated greens. A pleasant surprise that I find most courses not willing to do.
great day somewhat ruined
nice course, was having a great time until the turn where a marshal lit into us like a bunch of three year olds, saying the head pro saw us driving where we weren't supposed to be. Even if we did (which we did not, at least not to our knowledge) there is a more appropriate way to speak to people. I think for a bunch of vets, we took it well, but never again. other than that, a good day. because of the way they choose to treat people, cannot recommend,
One of my favs
Very enjoyable round of mountain golf! Challenging course but manageable with gorgeous scenery. Bring a shot of bourbon with you for #12 and enjoy one of the most unique holes!
Beautiful and Great Shape
Loved the course. I found the course much easier on the front while my husband scored much better on the back Beautiful, scenic course in great shape.
gatlinburg
nice course, friendly people challenging course will play again.
Make sure you are healthy
The day we played it was cart path only for a couple of seniors it was a cardiac workout, fabulous holes 200 ft elevations, blind shots makes you think. No a bombers paradice
Great track.
17 very good golf holes. I would definitely play it again.
Beautiful Property
This was a wonderful golf course. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was that it was carts on path for the winter, which I knew going in. It was a little difficult with all of the elevation changes and having to walk to your ball but I wouldn't hesitate to come here again. I would like to play in the summer/fall when it is in prime shape. Keeping carts off all winter will make for a great course come summer.
Gatlinburg Trip
What a beautiful property! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because it was carts on path for the winter. I knew this before scheduling my tee time so there were no surprises. It is a very hilly course so it was a little extra work since you couldn't drive to your ball. Everyone was very nice. We played on Easter Sunday so it wasn't very busy. I would love to go back and play in the summer/fall. I'm sure it is in great shape since they don't let anyone drive on it all winter.
Great mountain golf
For the time of the year, I don't think the course could have been in better shape. Loved the elevation changes and views. Really enjoyed the day.
