Slowish
Elements of the course are still needing some work but overall it looks and plays quite nice. Pace was a bit slow although may have been due to a very slow 4 ball a few holes in front. Front 9 was 1 hour 20 mins, but back nine was close to 2 hours for 2 ball on a midweek afternoon? That said we would play again though.
First Time - Liked the Course
Great value for the money. The course is challenging. Pace of play was good. We had a twosome in front of us who held things up but it wasn't the course's fault. Course in good condition compared to others we have recently played. Will be playing there again soon.
Getting Better Every Day
I had seen past reviews of this course and they were not stellar. Times have changed. As with any course there is a bump or two but one could tell this course has been transformed. New ownership has done a great job. Greens were perfect, fairways were in great shape. The rough was the rough, but after all it is the rough ! Cost wise for the time of year it was on point. Only negative was the cart dying in front of the 18th green, well it almost made it. The jewel was staff. Every single person we encountered was smiling, pleasant, helpful, and a joy to deal with. Double check directions if you havent been there before, gps was acting up. In total great club that we will go back to often !!
review
The overall conditions at Northdale was very good....nice fast greens, wide fairways cut close with minimal bare spots. However, it's a difficult course for the high handicapper, even from the forward tees.....bring plenty of balls as there is lots of water hazards that will catch a stray shot....well worth the drive from Port Richey....
Robin on Northdale Improvement
The course has improved greatly over the last year steadily thru strong greens management and overall course TLC
The greens tee boxes fairways are the best I’ve seen
In 35 years. The greens, fringe are definitely a B+, fairways B. Sand trap bunkers have also improved.
I’m impressed with new ownership that actually followed thru on promises unlike the previous 3-4 owners who left course in worse condition.
mike
considering what the other courses charge this time of year it is a good value not as crowded as the other courses mid morning
Effort vs. Efficiency
Course needs a marshal on the weekend to improve the pace of play.
Staff is working hard to make the course enjoyable.
Staff needs to enforce dress code.
Staff should charge riders full fee as well. They are taking up golf carts and impacting the paying customers.
1st time
This was my first time to Northdale Golf Course and I was pleasantly surprised. Check in/Pro shop was just like most other pro shops. What was surprising was the condition of the course for. it being January 4th, actually better condition imop than courses I have paid more to play. Course played not to easy, not to hard, fair but still a little challenging. All ball washers at each hole had water in them to clean your ball, only a couple holes didn't have towels. Course has restrooms on each 9. Small disappointment, there was no water dispensers to get a drink from on the entire course.
In the end, I would recommend playing here and in fact I look forward to my next round there.
Meh
The greens were lightning fast but very bumpy and in some cases very patchy and poor, tons of pitch marks and damage. The rest of the course requires major investment. The cart paths are horrible and bunkers getting better but still barely playable. Not worth the $55.
Best bang for your buck
Greens, fairways, and tee boxes were all in above average condition for the price and time of year. Pace of play was fantastic. Worst Greek on the course was the practice green, and it was in average to above average shape. $39 for a 12:21 tee time. Hard to beat.
