Best bang for your buck
Greens, fairways, and tee boxes were all in above average condition for the price and time of year. Pace of play was fantastic. Worst Greek on the course was the practice green, and it was in average to above average shape. $39 for a 12:21 tee time. Hard to beat.
Vastly Improved
We have played Northdale many times over the years. The course condition had become very poor the last couple years. I was pleasantly surprised to see the course was in much better condition than it has been for a long time. Greens were very smooth and fast. There are some rough spots here and there, but huge improvement over what it has been
Solid, but needs more improvement!
Honestly read the reviews and decided to check it out. I play 2-3 times a week so was interested after seeing others say new management came in and started fixing the place. Besides the 1st green, no serious complaints other than spending more time on getting the fairways and boxes better. Fun track, will definitely be back
Greens super fast
Overall the course was in good shape, tee boxes, fairways and greens were plush. Some greens had rough looking spots but they all rolled true and very fast. Pace of play was ok, not great. Overall condition was surprisingly good considering a lack of rain all year
Be careful
Course was in OK condition. Better than it has been but greens are still not great. Booked online and it said I would owe $42 at the course. Ended up being charged $52 at the course. No reason given and definitely not worth that amount.
Good Value
From what I’ve read, there’s new management and the course has improved. It was my first time playing, and I wasn’t disappointed. This is a good course for $35, but I wouldn’t pay $40+. 19th hole was cool with TVs and had good bar vibes. Pro shop is trash, and bathrooms smelled worse than a truck stop bathroom.
Overall, I was happy with course. A ranger would have been nice to help pace of play and prevent the high school kids from taking 3 shots off the tee box and watch them drive on the greens.
Not to bad
Greens and fairways are good enough shape for the season. The layout was fun, nothing really to difficult. Price was decent, I'd play here again for sure.
Best I’ve seen it in quite a while.
Course conditions are greatly improved. Sand traps much better. A couple rough greens in spots, But overall, Northdale is well maintained for a public course. My favorite play in the area.
Much better
Coming along nicely. 1st green was a little rough, but the rest were great. Fairways and bunkers great shape.
Clubhouse much improved. Nice carts.
Can't beat it in this price range.
A familiar course under new ownership
So the new owners are trying, and in most part succeeding, to bring the course back to the condition it was in when they rebuilt all the greens a few years ago. I say for the most part because the 1st green still sucks due to its position and lack of light but they are working on it.
Overall the course is in good shape and I have every confidence that the new owners will be successful in the long term.
All the staff I dealt with were extremely helpful, friendly and polite. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.
Nice course to work on your game
Nice course to work on your game.He has some rough spots, but you can see that they are working on them. I always enjoy Northdale.
A familiar course
I always try to make time to include a stop here if I'm in Tampa as it was one of the first courses I played when in the area.
The layout is the same and the new owners are trying to bring it back to the shape it was in after they resurfaced all the greens a few years ago.
Special shout out to Renee in the shop for being so friendly and to Kaylee behind the bar for the same reason. Apologies if I can't spell ladies :)
The course overall was in pretty good shape and represents good value for money. Just don't pay any attention to the state of the 1st green as it doesn't get much light so suffers. The other 17 greens are much better.
Good value
Had a great time today. Pace of play was pretty quick on a Friday morning. All the bunkers could use some love with how worn out they are but otherwise a good time today. I was last here about half a year ago and it’s still a fun course to play. Easily a recurring course in my lineup.
review
Over-all conditions at Northdale were very good....fairways cut close and nice and wide, greens also cut very close and fast...my only complaint was that the sand traps ( and there are many ) needed attention......also water hazards come into play from even the forward tees ( at 5200 yds ),,,,,so your golf shots had to be pretty good.....looking forward to returning there again soon as the price ( $30 ) and the tee time ( 10 am ) were better than most places......
Better than the last time
The course is in fair condition. Bunkers/traps are terrible. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were okay. The rough was as expected nothing too bad. Hopefully the new owners will make the improvements necessary to resurrect this once great course. I like playing here because it’s close to home.
Could be better.
Course has a decent layour, but is in rough shape.
Traps are all dirt and weeds.
Wirh some care, it could be nice.
Gem in the Rough
A favorite course for the value. TEE boxes and FAIRWAYS are well maintained, but the rough is ROUGH so keep your eyes on your balls. GREENS are smooth and rolled, despite the dirt patches and multiple grass type that will impact putting speed. BUNKERS are overgrown with weed and relatively hard, hence no rake. CLUBHOUSES is in good shape. GOLF SHOP (Not-Pro Shop) doesn’t have much selections. STAFF is very friendly, but bring water, as I have NEVER seen a beverage cart or refresh water station. Parking lot and Tennis Courts needs a lot of TLC given the beautiful houses throughout the course.
Getting better, but good value.
Greens, tee boxes and Bunkers can all use work. Bunkers are currently treated as Ground Under Repair and rightly so. Considering the course conditions at the start of the year, a lot of work has been done and overall very good value vs. most weekend early morning prices. Keep up the good work.
