About
Northdale Golf & Tennis Club remains one of the premier Tampa golf courses because of its affordable play, its use of water on 11 of 18 holes, bunkers, rolling undulations and contoured greens that really challenge players. Just 12 miles north of Tampa International Airport, this is a neighborhood golf course with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that will add to the enjoyment of your day. Renowned golf course architect Ron Garl designed the par 72, 6824-yard championship golf course. Northdale Golf & Tennis Club winds its way through 180 plus acres of property that is home to Brushy Creek and a series of small lakes and unspoiled wooded areas.

Poor golf experience
Unfriendly staff. Course in bad shape. 6 hour pace of play with no marshal intervening. Really bad golf experience. Do not recommend.
Terrible conditions and horrendous pace of play..
Been here previously and course wasn’t so bad. This time around, everything is pretty bad and needs desperate TLC. Teeboxes were OK, fairways pretty rough with lots of weeds, and the rough areas are way overgrown, so if you miss the fairway it’s very difficult to find your ball. Had 3 groups jammed up on the same hole pretty much all day. Greens were decent but did not roll true and are very bumpy. Pace was awful, waiting after every shot and after finishing every hole. They need to get a starter out here during the weekends… won’t be back anytime soon.
Good Value and lots of improvement
They can overbook at times which causes it to be congested and cause longer than usual rounds. The staff is great and there is lots of potential. I'm curious to see how well it drains after all this rain.
Fast Golf
Played there last Thursday afternoon. Originally booked 9 holes for tee time at 5 expecting the usual 1.5-1.75 hours of playing. Got through 9 holes in one hour! Went to the shop and asked to pay to play the back 9. He waived me out back to the 1st tee and let me play for no charge the front 9 again. Really appreciated the nice off and friendly staff. Some of the holes were in exceptional condition, some were average. The only surprise was hole # 1, a par 5 was shortened by about 100 yards with a temp green in the fairway. Wasn't expecting that one.
Decent Course for an Older Venue
My brother-in-law and I played 18 here on 6/28/24. The course was in pretty good shape. They were resetting the pin location on hole #1 when we were there, and they had a pin in the middle of the fairway to play to with a cup size of about 2'. Very odd, plus the starter said nothing about it when we set out.
Other than the odd start, the round was pretty good. Less bunkers than some other Florida courses I've played and more water than I expected. Overall, staff was decent, course was decent (greens & fairways were in good shape) and we had a great time. Cart paths do need some attention though as many were torn up due to the large, mature oak roots that dot the course edges.
Price is a little high for the course conditions and the age of the course. We would play here again though.
Surprisingly rewarding Course!
Had a great time playing here- the course was in great condition, greens were slow, but coming along fine from punching a couple weeks ago. One temporary green on par 5 #1. Pace of play was outstanding! We finished our round in 3.5 hours. I really enjoyed the course, I will be back again!
This course has come from nothing 40 years ago to something very different today and it took every employee to make it happen so I commend all Northdale crew for a wonderful day of golf on a great course
Northdale
Northdale has come a long way in the past year. Tee boxes and fairways were once a cow pasture but now have been repaired and playable. The greens were recently airated but all appeared to be in good condition. A weekday morning round took less than 3 1/2 hrs to play.
Good Challenge
Course was in good shape except for the first green.
Some kind of blight rendered it unplayable.
Fortunately all of the other greens were fine.
Fairways in pretty good condition.
