Palmer at Saddlebrook Golf & Tennis Resort

About
The Palmer Course is one of two championship courses designed by Arnold Palmer at the Saddlebrook Resort just north of Tampa. Although it is seemingly tame at 6,273 yards, it plays much tougher. The golf course features more elevation changes than the resort's other course, the Saddlebrook. The undulating, tree-lined fairways were designed to mimic a hilly New England course but the moss-covered cypresses, palm trees, and marshy swamplands are true to the Florida landscape. The layout features tight fairways framed with contoured mounding and the occasional water hazard but the most formidable challenge comes from the bunkers strategically placed along the undulating greens. The approaches to the tiered greens, which are often sloped from back to front, demand accuracy. Golfers should be prepared to use every club in their bag and employ a variety of different shots.

Great course
Not overly long but allows for driver from the blue tees. The greens are phenomenal. They roll nicely and hold.
Great day of golf
Great day of golf. They got us out early. We didn’t have to wait too much. Course was in excellent shape. Lots of water for a challenge. Good price. Very happy.
OK Course with Small Greens
Overall the course was in fairly good condition. But to be honest, it just isn't that special of a course in terms of layout, scenery, or conditions. The greens in general tend to be very small on many holes, which if there is wind like there was today can make for a less than enjoyable round even when hitting it well. The course overall is not that scenic either with lots of housing and other resort areas visible on many holes. For comparison I think the nearby Lake Jovita courses tend to be better in all regards at often similar prices. So it is an ok place to play of you can get it in the $30 range but I wouldn't pay much more. You also have to park quite a hike away from the golf pro shop and then hope the shuttle cart doesn't take forever or be willing to walk it for 10 minutes to get over to the pro shop with your clubs to check in. I would instead play Lake Jovita or make the drive to World Woods or even to Orange County National or other Orlando courses to have a more enjoyable round.
Great Day at Saddlebrook Golf Club
This is the first time that we’ve played the Arnold Palmer course at Saddlebrook. The greens were fast and the fairways were in good shape except for hole number 1, which had a muddy patch. That was the only hole that we experienced that. The course is challenging and it’s important that you place the ball in the fairway so that you set yourself up for a good 2nd shot. The greens are just as challenging if you haven’t place your ball near the pin.
Great layout only wish I played better. Will be back again. Thanks
Play it again Sam
As far as golf goes it was absolutely fine amenities NONE. No food no drinks no cart person .Just golf
Great Golf and tennis facility.
Well maintained and staffed.
Great Outing
Relatives came to town and was able to get out and play Saddlebrook, got a great rate on Golfnow. Course was in very good shape, greens were a bit slow. Pace of play was excellent, played the round in less than four hours.
excellent layout and challenging greens
Course layout was your typical resort model. Greens were very undulating but were very slow around 6 so a miss on the high side was not punishing. I would play it again but from the Blue tees I hit a lot of sand wedges and 9 irons. A few greens were hour glass shape with the pin in the middle a real challenge.
