Great course
This was our first time playing here and I shot one of my lowest scores ever. I had a great time and can't wait to return.
Courses in very good shape and pace of play was surprisingly good
Play Ancil Hoffman about a half a dozen times a year. Very good track but sometimes the pace of play is very slow. Today had great weather, course was in very good condition and the pace of play was very good - finished in about four hours and 20 minutes..
Slow pace of play
There’s no management for pace of play . Some of the holes two teams had to wait . Not acceptable !

Pretty good as usual there. One group holding things up and Marshall wouldn’t or couldn’t get them to speed up. Greens were slower than the practice green. Overall it was good as it always is. Play on the weekend tends to be slow anywhere so can’t hold that against ancil. Pro shop and main event staff were pleasant.
Keep working
The course and the natural beauty of the course makes it automatically 4 stars without thought. There is so much nature on display since it runs Ong the American River Parkway. That being said, though you would anticipate it being a slow play today due to the date and weather, the slow pace was exacerbated by the timings of the T times and I'm guessing the scrambling of the players. It tended to pile and ultimately ha e you sitting at every T box. Otherwise, love this course.
Too slow of pace
Too many people were walking and very slow. They also not considerate other players waiting for them . It will take five hours to finish if we didn't call quite at 13 hole and it was getting dark quickly.

Horrible Customer Service
Just left the course after 9 holes. Going to the 10th at 3 1/2 hours not because the course was busy but b/ the Marshall was not caring. Call about 5 time and no one showed up. There was a hole and a half gap between the group in front of us and the group in front of them. Was told by the starter go get a replay. I was turned away and denied a replay at the pro shop. There excuse was they couldn't get a hold of the Marshall. The customer service is horrible. It sucks when you try to support a course and they just treat you horribly and don't care. Was going to set up a business tournament here but now I'll be looking somewhere else. Don't think I'll be coming back.
