Ancil Hoffman Park Golf Course Review
Ancil Hoffman has been a great test of golf since it opened. The one negative thing is the slow play. In the past the slow play was stacked up on No. 2 or No. three. In this instance it took about 3 hours to play the back. The front nine was more than acceptable
Aeration
I would not purchased tee if there was aeration symbol. Front 9 closed! Spotty fairways on back 9. Tee @1116 restaurant closed @3, no beverage cart on course with 98F.
Slow Play
A normal round on the weekends will take on average 5 - 5.5 hours. They put two 5 somes in front of us and the marshals didn’t do anything to get them to move quicker. Apparently one of them was getting married and told our group who was playing behind them that they didn’t care if they played slow or not.
The pro shop should never let 5 somes out on weekends!

One of the most beautiful public course in NorCal. Great layout, reasonable green fee's and awesome staff. Will always be one of my favorites.
Required to share a cart with a stranger
When I checked in with the starter he informed me that because there were already 2 carts out for the foursome that I would have to ride with one of the unknown golfers. Masks were required to enter the proshop yet Ancil Hoffman also has the requirement to share carts with strangers. The Starter said that I should keep socially distant on the course, which when I said that's impossible while sharing a cart, he just shrugged his shoulders. Amazing that this Sacramento County run course does not seem to be bothered that it has operating practices which are in violation with the intent of a mask mandate for Sacramento County and should be subject to a lawsuit.
Course condition great
Course great condition, carts filly equipped with ball & club washer (no water), ice box, and USB. Beverage cart on course.
I love this course
One of the best courses in the Sacramento area. Proximity to the American River and trees everywhere makes this course fun and challenging!
A nice easy course tucked ina Park setting
This course was fun but not super challenging.Me and my wife enjoyed it though as its tucked in a park like setting and has planty of trees to hide under from the sun,slight breeze so it was very comfortable even though it was in the 90's.A bit off the beaten path but another reason it was enjoyable,pace of play was decent as its not a very hard course.
