the pace of play is really slow, marshal does nothing to get it going, on most holes there were 3 groups waiting to tee off, not going back anytime soon.
Put some love back into the grass
The course was very bare and dried out with poor conditions on the freeways - I mean fairways. The tee boxes were OK. The greens were in better condition and were puttable. The layout is not bad, but hard, dry and lack of grass from tee to green makes it not worth a trip back. I had not played here in 25 years and the course was in better condition from that memory. I will not be back.
EXPECT TO WAIT
Tee times are jam packed. Waited up to 5-8 minutes at the tee boxes. Left after the front nine!! Won’t be back
Just a great course
Each time I play here and I do often, it is a great experience. For those of you that have not played at RSJ I highly recommend you do. When you play it once, you will be back.
Very Slow Pace
I played on a Sunday afternoon and there were 4 parties backed up on each hole. After waiting forever on the 3rd hole I asked for my money back. I will never play there again. The course is ok but they overbook it way too much.
This course never changes much. The greens are usually good but fairways are always weedy and thin. Fairways can use watering and more grass. Bunkers are playable.
Friday the 13th
Beautiful day. Paired up with a great twosome. Greens in great shape. Enjoyed the layout, some tough holes. Tees and fairways ok. Great friendly staff!
Good day of golf
Course greens were nice, and course in general in good condition. A bit damp in spots so a drop is needed here & there. Not of fan of some pin placements though. A few holes were on slopes in the green where a very slow putt from 2 feet away would roll 12 ft off a green!
Slow play made it tough to enjoy
I would not recommend going off after 1:30 or 2. We went off after 3 and finished 12 holes in the dark. Great staff sure make you feel welcome.
One word.......SLOW
The course and greens were in good shape, but this place is slow. Didn't think we'd finish (teed off at 422pm), but should've gotten through more than 12 holes. The first 3 holes are a mess with 3 groups stacked up on the par 3 sending home. Probably won't do it again at that time.
Excellent course but poor pace of play
The layout of the course is excellent and course maintenance is acceptable but the pace of play is terrible, particularly associated with your actual tee off time which are always, at the minimum, 30 minutes behind the schedule. Further, they allow 5-some plays. You have to spend about 6 hours from your scheduled tee-off time. If they allow 5-some plays on an extremely exceptional case where players' total handicap is below, say, 50 and prohibit serious wagering on strokes, the course will be one of the most popular courses in LA area.
F U N
Great time Fairways could use some work. Greens are good and tee boxes are important to keep in shape
Thank You
Dissatisfied
The worst golf course I have ever played on! Poor fairways, poor greens surrounding areas where poorly maintained! Will never play this course again even if was free!
about 6 hours to finish
Extremely slow.
Even though it's very cheap for player's club member, it's hard to say 'it is fine'.
No rangers.. no pace control... really bad exp.
