La Purisima Golf Course

My wife and I played this course and it was equally satisfying to both of us. It was our second time playing and would reccomend it to anyone. Will definetly make it a third or more, next time we are in the area.

Nice course but not what I expected from the pictures. Beautiful views but the course condition was just average. It felt like a huge pasture they created a golf course on. Course has many elevation changes and pretty significant doglegs. This is a course that you need to play a half dozen times to get your distances and course management down. The weather was beautiful for us - not too windy, but I was told in can get very windy at times. Overall a good course but not great.

Really like the course, very challenging, great location to play a round. Liked everything about this place, only downer was the number of walkers that really slowed the pace.

I read reviews about course not being in good shape, but that is not true anymore. New owners , as of 8 months ago, extensively trimmed trees and under brush. Course is difficult (8 handicap) but fair. You have to think about every shot or you will be in trouble. Greens are very undulating but true. Only negative was that some bunkers could use more sand. One of the tougher courses I've played. Every hole is different/great, incredible layout.

The course is in great condition especially considering the difference from a year ago. The greens were almost in perfect condition, and fairways also were VERY green and smooth. The rough was fair and long in some spots. The only negative about the course would be the condition of some of the bunkers, but even that wasn't bad.

The biggest negative as always is the weather, mostly the wind. It was a nice day(65 degrees or so) but the wind was annoying, like it always seems to be when playing this course.

Overall though, a great course, the new owners have made great strides on the condition of the course, and it's very much appreciated.

I found the course challenging and it played long. probably as we had recent rainfall.
Found it difficult to find correct hole tees from time to time and there is a need for better sings at back of greens to indicate which way to next tees.This did not spoil our game and the course was in excellent condition.
Some pathways were bumpy but was not a problem.
Were disappointed to find restaurant was closed at 2 pm. and we were unable to eat. Be aware if you are playing through lunchtime!

We got lucky played it a day after it rained so it played soft. Course is difficult but rewarding. A true test to your game. Best course on the central coast.

Course not in great shape - bumpy cart paths and rough areas but scenic course and nice greens. Enjoyed the course but weather was chilly. We were able to get very good rate so it was worth it but not at regular rates.

I've played La Purisima for over 20 years. I don't go there more than once or twice a year anymore. It's a hard course but plays fast (usually) and has nice scenery. Watch out if it's a windy day. The northwesterlies can be fierce in the afternoon especially in the spring and early summer. Try to find a discount time online.

The condition of the course is excellent, the new ownership group has done a nice job of grooming the course to be more playable. The pace of play during my last round was a little slow, which is usually not an issue on this course. Overall, an enjoyable experience!

Beautiful views. Very tough course. Can be very windy at times.

One of the nicest courses in the area. Challenging and other than a little wind it was a great course to play. They need to do a little better job with the cart paths, but other than that the course is well maintained, nice staff.

One of the best largely unknown courses on the west coast. It has fallen into bad disrepair in recent years but according to the shop staff was bought by some local guys and they are slowly bringing it back to its former glory.

I look forward to getting back out there in 3, 6, 9 months from now as that rehabilitation of a once glorious course proceeds.

My husband and I played this nice course but unfortunately played behind the slowest 2-some ever. They were regulars and luckily they only played 9 holes. It took us 2 and half hours to play the front 9 but 1 and a half hours to play back 9 + played an extra 6 holes. You can play this course in 3 hrs.

Overall this was a nice day. The main complaint is that the grill closed early and we were VERY hungry. Had to settle for snacks and energy bars. Golf pro was very professional and helpful. I even got my putter re-gripped. Overall staff was pleasant with the exception of the kitchen servers. Will play there again but probably only 9 holes and lunch elsewhere.

This is a phenomenal course if you appreciate a good layout and a true test. The set up really forces to players to think around the course and place your shots in the right areas. The course is in great shape and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants a memorable golfing experience.

We showed up a little late for our tee time but the starter was extremely friendly and got us out right away the course was in fantastic shape the greens rolled true but you want to be below the hole if you can due to speed me and my son had a great time we'll be going back again soon

Played white tees due to course and wind factor. Friend if mine got a hole-in-one on number nine, awesome!!! Staff was super friendly and girls in kitchen as well. Greens were great, fairways maintained and ruffs were fair. Great course for value. Go check it out you will not be disappointed.

Course not in good shape, sand is poor, grass is just ok. Needs cart paths and directions for carts. New carts will be old quick, very rough going in spots. Course could be great but i think it is just average. Course was much better years ago.
Course layout good and challenging
Only worth discounted price.
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT.

Over booked, sand traps not maintained, no clue they had just plugged greens. Super slow play!
