A tough test, especially when the wind comes up in the afternoon. Plenty of hidden shots and undulating fairways.
A venerable track under new ownership and management. Some work to be done, but a great natural piece of land. Watch out for the water and beautiful oak trees. A hidden gem.
Awesome course in great shape!
La Purisma is a very challenging course, but very fun to play. The course was in extremely good shape, tee boxes, fairways and greens. The greens were probably the best I've ever putted on. The dramatic elevation changes can be very difficult and it gets windy out there being so close to the ocean.
Played on a Thursday, nobody was out there. Great deal.

Well worth the drive from Valencia
Played this course on Saturday and Sunday with my usual golf buddies and we all had unusually high scores. The course is immaculate and the greens were super challenging. Not knowing what to expect, the few reviews were definitely helpful in making my decision to spend the whole weekend in Lompoc. Every hole is different and it felt like I had a journey playing the course as each hole brought unique views and challenges. We would have finished our round in less than 4 hours but with stopping to take pictures slowed our pace a little. What the heck, no one pushing us or having to wait, the pace of play was excellent. The only bummer thing is this crowned jewel is too far from home...I guess that is why it is so pristine. I will definitely return and next time, my score will be better.
Picturesque Course, Amazing Greens, Beautiful Layout
Played the course for the second time and had a great time. The course has a beautiful layout and is very challenging. The accolades on the wall are pretty cool when you walk in...at one point it was a top 100 public course in the US. The new owner is doing great things with the course. A must play.
Beautiful Course
Everything was top notch. The club house was an old mission style but was very well kept and had very friendly staff. The course is in great shape.
