terrible, stay away!!!
LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE....the course, the staff, the players keeping good pace...
better layout and overall than a lot of private courses I have played
those who play ;slow' and hold others up---stay away, lol...
ps---maybe an upgrade of 'range balls' might help:)

Great Layout
Fairways and tees in good shape Greens still sandy and very slow.

Amazing secrets
Truly a five star golf course. Think of Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach Meets Moorpark. Hoping our secret doesn’t get out as this is an Amazing course. Perfect walking course about 7.5 miles. Bring your mountain cart.
Super challenging greens, lush wide fairways make for a perfect day.

Most unique golf in SoCal
The last three times I’ve played Rustic, I’ve been in groups with guys from downtown LA, all playing it for the first time. ALL of them have raved about what a great place it is to play.

GREAT
All around a great experience. Conditions were great from tees, fairways and greens. I walked and thoroughly enjoyed the vistas while walking through the canyon. Layout was great from hole to hole with a nice variety of shots being required to get around the course. I was solo and hooked up with a great group of locals who were extremely friendly. Pro shop staff was awesome as well, super friendly. This will be a go to anytime I’m in the LA area. Great day at Rustic Canyon.

Fellas in the Pro Shop were true professionals treating us like welcomed guests and they were very efficient and accommodating of our requests.
Holding the carts until a tee time is on deck kept the place safe and uncongested - very good practice.
Only criticism- 18th green/practice green combo a very bad, dangerous idea. If a player hits it long past the pin one day, someone will be seriously injured. Need to move 18th green to the North away from the practice green.

Public Course Record!
Son shot the course record yesterday with a 61. Came in with 6 birdies on the front=30 and 5 birdies on the back=31 with no bogies. 25 putts, and 16 greens. Yes, he plays from the tips... D1 player!
Best round I've ever witnessed. We had a single sign the card as an additional witness.

Great Layout - gets slow
Rustic Canyon is an outstanding golf course. Every hole makes you think about something without ever feeling tricked up or unfair. You need to put yourself in the right places to score well. The greens are fast and challenging, and are always in good condition. This course is HARD on a windy day, and it does get windy in that canyon. The only real negative is that the course can get very slow. 5 hour rounds are becoming the norm.
