Whitney Oaks Golf Club

Fairways were not in very good shape. Course is very hilly with limited flat lies. Probably will not play this course again.

Playing in the winter, you expect the course to be a bit rough and wet. The conditions were fantastic, no wet spots, allowed to drive in the fairways. Great conditions!

I always enjoy playing Whitney Oaks, no matter how poorly I am playing (or balls I lose).

Unfortunately, this round was hindered by extremely slow play. What is usually a 4 to 4.5 hour round was extended to about 5 hours and 30 minutes.

Of course, I will definitely return to Whitney Oaks, but I am hopeful the next time the pace is so slow, a course marshal will step in and encourage quicker play.

I’ve played here several times and enjoy the course layout. It’s challenging and forces you to think your way around each hole. Unfortunately, the pace of play was dreadful. Starting around the 3rd hole there were 2-3 foursomes waiting on each tee box. By the time we finished 9 holes, about 2 hours and 45 minutes later, I decided to call it a day because it’s just not enjoyable playing that slow. Not a good way to spend $75. I wasn’t the only one either. I saw a few others in the parking lot doing the same thing, guys I was chatting with from other groups that I met while we were waiting on every hole. Whitney Oaks staff needs to do a better job keeping things moving along on the course. I never once saw a Marshall out there either.

It’s a good course but 3 hours to play 9 holes is unacceptable. Avoid weekends

If you wanted a tough course, While having a fantastic experience… well here it is. From elevation changes to various undulations on the greens, the course offers everything. If you want to test that handicap of yours and those brand new irons you bought this is the course to do it on. I learned the hard way too.

Definitely recommend playing a round here

Staff was friendly, fairways and rough were well groomed, greens were perfect and fast, very nice. Would highly recommend this course to all levels of play.

Greens are in prime condition right now. Rolling fast and true. Bermuda fairways aren’t very green. To be expected in winter but they were well manicured.

After my first round here, I can say that it has everything I prefer in a course. The only staff I dealt with was the gentleman in the pro shop and the course starter; both were friendly. They have a nice chipping/putting area and driving range. The course itself is beautiful and laid out well with small elevation changes and some tricky holes. I’ve heard this course can get busy and backed up, but we were lucky and didn’t have any delays (or people in a rush behind us). Can’t wait to play here again.

Beautiful layout with challenging holes and perfect to play with the fall colors.

Lots of forced carries and narrow fairways.?Beginners should go elsewhere and intermediate golfers should bring lots of balls!

Course is in good condition and staff inside was great but I had a huge issue on course that they didn’t even try to alleviate. Group in front of us was playing music so loud that we could hear it from 300 yards away. Lots of cursing and lyrics that were inappropriate for young children. I called the course and told them it was beyond appropriate and they agreed and said they would send someone out. They didn’t. Three holes after I called this in the loud music and clearly drunk group started yelling back at me as they drove off from the green. I kept my cool (thanks to my wife riding along with me) but I didn’t want to. I will never play here again. I guess they just got new management so let’s hope they do better. Not good!!!

This is my “go to” course in the Rocklin area. Great course layout which forces you to make decisions and strategize your round. Nice chipping area, putting green, and driving range in close proximity to the clubhouse and 1st tee. Always a good time here.
